When is the 2025 NBA All-Star Game?
The 2025 NBA All-Star Game will take place on Sunday, Feb. 16, 2025. All-Star Weekend will encompass three total nights of events from Feb. 14-16, 2025. For a complete schedule of events, click here.
Where is the 2025 NBA All-Star Game?
The San Francisco Bay Area has been selected to host NBA All-Star 2025. The 74th NBA All-Star Game will take place at Chase Center, home of the Golden State Warriors. NBA All-Star 2025 will mark the first time that the event has been held at Chase Center, which opened in 2019.
Additional signature events will take place throughout the Bay Area, including at Moscone Convention Center, Oakland Arena and the Warriors’ Oakland facility. The Warriors previously hosted NBA All-Star in the Bay Area in 2000 at Oakland Arena in Oakland and in 1967 at the Cow Palace in Daly City.
What is the format for the 2025 NBA All-Star Game?
For the first time, the NBA All-Star Game will feature a mini-tournament with four teams and three games. Two teams will meet in one semifinal (Game 1), and the remaining two teams will meet in the other semifinal (Game 2). The winning teams from Game 1 and Game 2 will advance to face each other in the championship (Game 3). For each game, the winner will be the first team to reach or surpass 40 points.
Each team will have eight players and be named for a TNT NBA analyst. The 24 NBA All-Star selections were divided evenly into three teams, with the rosters drafted by honorary team general managers Charles Barkley, Shaquille O’Neal and Kenny Smith. The fourth team will be the winning team from the championship game of the Castrol Rising Stars. TNT analyst and WNBA legend Candace Parker will serve as the honorary GM.

How were the NBA All-Stars selected?
The voting process to determine the 24 NBA All-Stars remains the same. The five players honored as starters in each conference were selected by fans (50% of the vote), current NBA players (25%) and a media panel (25%). The seven players honored as reserves in each conference were selected by NBA head coaches. S
After all votes for NBA All-Star Game starters were tallied, players were ranked in each conference by position (guard and frontcourt) within each of the three voting groups – fan votes, player votes and media votes. Each player’s score was calculated by averaging his weighted rank from the fan votes, the player votes and the media votes. The two guards and three frontcourt players with the best score in each conference were named NBA All-Star Game starters. Fan voting serves as the tiebreaker for players in a position group with the same score.
Who will be the coaches of the 4 All-Star teams?
Oklahoma City Thunder head coach Mark Daigneault will coach one of the four teams by virtue of the Thunder clinching the best record in the Western Conference through games played on Sunday, Feb. 2. As a result, Daigneault has earned a spot as a head coach in the NBA All-Star Game for the first time. In addition, an assistant coach from Daigneault’s staff will serve as a head coach for another of the NBA All-Star teams.
Cleveland Cavaliers head coach Kenny Atkinson will coach one of the four teams in the 2025 NBA All-Star Game by virtue of the Cavs clinching the best record in the Eastern Conference through games played on Sunday, Feb. 2. In addition, an assistant coach from Atkinson’s staff will serve as a head coach for another of the NBA All-Star teams.
