LAS VEGAS — The Charlotte Hornets defeated the Philadelphia 76ers 96-94 in the NBA 2K26 Summer League at Thomas & Mack Center on Saturday.
While Charlotte held the lead for the opening 36 minutes of this game, there were five ties and four lead changes in the closing four minutes. The Hornets were still able to prevail, with Ryan Kalkbrenner blocking a game-tying shot at the buzzer. The difference for Charlotte was its 3-point shooting, connecting on 38% (14-for-37) while Philly hit just 29% (7-for-24).
The Hornets (2-0) were led by KJ Simpson, who had 19 points, seven rebounds and four assists. Tidjane Salaun tallied 16 points, six rebounds, two assists and two blocks. Liam McNeeley amassed 14 points, five rebounds and two assists, while MJ Walker had 18 points and three rebounds off the bench.
The Sixers (0-2) were led by Judah Mintz with 24 points, five rebounds and four assists. Dominick Barlow had 19 points, nine rebounds, two assists and three steals. Justin Edwards finished with 14 points, two rebounds and two assists, while Johni Broome led the bench with 10 points, three rebounds and two assists.
On deck for Charlotte is a matchup with the Dallas Mavericks on Monday. As for Philly, they face the Washington Wizards on Tuesday for their next outing.
