LAS VEGAS –The Memphis Grizzlies defeated the Dallas Mavericks, 108-88, in the NBA 2K25 Summer League at Cox Pavilion on Monday.
Memphis kickstarted this game with a 30-11 first quarter, completing this blowout in wire-to-wire fashion. They actually held a double-digit lead for the final three frames, getting their lead up to 34 points at times in the second half. The Grizzlies shot 54.5% from the field while holding the Mavericks to 47.6% shooting. Memphis also won the turnover battle, 27-15, while outscoring Dallas in the paint, 58-42. Those 27 forced turnovers were the most to date in this year’s edition of the Las Vegas summer league.
The Mavericks (0-2) were led by Olivier-Maxence Prosper, providing 16 points, four rebounds, four assists and two steals. AJ Lawson amassed 14 points and two assists. Brandon Williams tallied 11 points, two rebounds and four assists, while Emanuel Miller led the bench with 12 points, six rebounds and four steals.
The Grizzlies (2-0) were led by GG Jackson, generating 23 points and 11 rebounds. Scotty Pippen Jr. collected 19 points, two rebounds, seven assists and five steals. Jake LaRavia had 14 points, four rebounds, seven assists and four steals, while Jaylen Wells led the bench with 13 points, two rebounds, two assists and two steals.
On deck for Dallas is a matchup with the Miami Heat on Wednesday. As for Memphis, they play the New Orleans Pelicans on Thursday for their next outing.
