1. Dwyane Wade, 2008-09, 30.2 Points Per Game
The Heat selected Wade with the fifth pick in the 2003 Draft. After averaging 16.2 points per game during his rookie season, Wade then had nine straight seasons in which he averaged at least 21.2 points. In 2008-09, he led the NBA by averaging 30.2 points per game. He made the All-Star team that season, finished third in MVP voting and third in Defensive Player of the Year voting. It was an efficient scoring campaign with him shooting 49.1% from the field on 22.0 shot attempts per game.
2. Dwyane Wade, 2005-06, 27.2 Points Per Game
The 2005-06 season was Wade’s third in the NBA. His average of 27.2 points per game that season ranked fifth in the NBA. He averaged 10.7 free-throw attempts per game, which ended up being the highest mark of his career. Also helping his scoring average was that he shot 49.5% from the field. His excellent scoring contributions helped him make the All-Star team that season and finish sixth in MVP voting. Across 948 career regular season games with the Heat, Wade averaged 22.7 points.
3. LeBron James, 2011-12, 27.1 Points Per Game
James spent the first seven seasons of his career with the Cavaliers. He joined the Heat before the 2010-11 season after having won back-to-back MVP awards. While that streak ended, he was then named MVP of the 2011-12 season. That season, he provided 27.1 points, 6.9 rebounds and 6.3 assists per game. He also shot 53.1% from the field, which was the highest mark of his career at the time. His scoring average ranked third in the NBA that season behind Kevin Durant (28.0) and Kobe Bryant (27.9).
4. LeBron James, 2013-14, 27.1 Points Per Game
James finished second in MVP voting in 2013-14. He averaged 27.1 points per game that season, which ranked third behind Durant (32.0) and Carmelo Anthony (27.4). James shot 56.7% from the field that season — currently the highest mark of his career — and shot 37.9% on his three-point attempts.
5. LeBron James, 2012-13, 26.8 Points Per Game
James won yet another MVP Award in 2012-13. That was the fourth time that he was named MVP over a five-season span. He made a significant leap with his efficiency that season, shooting 56.5% from the field and 40.6% from behind the arc. His scoring average of 26.8 points per game ranked fourth behind Anthony (28.7), Durant (28.1) and Bryant (27.3). James played a total of four seasons for the Heat, averaging 26.9 points per game and winning two championships. He then returned to the Cavaliers, who he played with for four more seasons before departing for the Lakers.
