Anthony Edwards celebrating another 3-pointer in a 55-point outburst against San Antonio.

What we know after Saturday’s slate:

-The Spurs defeat the Timberwolves in the marquee matchup of the night: San Antonio had a 25-point lead in the third quarter, but Anthony Edwards helped Minnesota take a lead in the closing minutes. The Spurs responded and escaped with the win, despite Edwards scoring 55 points. Victor Wembanyama had 39 points, helping San Antonio snap a five-game losing streak against Minnesota.

-The Suns snag a road win against the Knicks: Phoenix has a Top 5 defense and showcased that in this 106-99 victory in New York. They forced 17 turnovers from the Knicks while holding them to 40 percent shooting. Devin Booker scored 27 points in that victory.

-The Heat grab a comeback victory over the Thunder: While Oklahoma City led for over 40 minutes, Miami rode a 62-55 second half to a comeback win. They recorded just four turnovers in that win and attempted 111 shots compared to the Thunder’s 77 shots.

-Anthony Edwards had 55 points, four rebounds and three assists in a loss to the San Antonio Spurs.

-Victor Wembanyama tallied 39 points, nine rebounds, three assists and two blocks in a win over the Minnesota Timberwolves.

-Jamal Murray had 42 points, three rebounds, six assists, two steals and two blocks in a victory over the Washington Wizards.

-Jaylen Brown provided 41 points, six rebounds and two assists in a win over the Atlanta Hawks.

-Shai Gilgeous-Alexander amassed 39 points, four rebounds and three assists in a loss to the Miami Heat.

-Bam Adebayo totaled 30 points, 12 rebounds and four assists in a win over the Oklahoma City Thunder.

Trail Blazers Defeat Lakers, 132-116

A 40-27 first quarter set the foundation for Portland, maintaining the lead for the final three frames.

Shaedon Sharpe led Portland with 25 points, three rebounds, four assists and two steals.

Donovan Clingan collected 18 points, 11 rebounds and four assists.

Caleb Love and Jerami Grant scored 22 points apiece off the bench.

LeBron James led LA with 20 points, nine rebounds and eight assists.

Portland shot 54 percent from the field in that opening half while attempting 27 free throws.

Nuggets Defeat Wizards, 121-115

This game was tied 110-110 with 2:30 remaining, but Denver closed on an 11-5 run to complete their win.

The Nuggets shot 53 percent from the field and 40 percent from 3-point range, while out-assisting the Wizards, 31-20.

Jamal Murray had 42 points, three rebounds, six assists, two steals and two blocks.

Aaron Gordon had eight points, 10 rebounds and 11 assists.

Tim Hardaway Jr led the bench with 30 points.

Kyshawn George led Washington with 29 points, five rebounds, seven assists and three blocks.

Warriors Defeat Hornets, 136-116

Golden State shot 55 percent from the field and 44 percent from 3-point range while recording 34 assists in this victory.

The Warriors bench scored a season-high 72 points.

De’Anthony Melton led the team with 24 points, six rebounds and three assists off the bench.

Draymond Green led the starters with 20 points, three rebounds and six assists.

Brandon Miller led Charlotte with 28 points, six rebounds and five assists.

Heat Defeat Thunder, 122-120

There were 17 ties and 12 lead changes in this game, with OKC leading for over 40 minutes.

Miami rode a 62-55 second half to their comeback win.

The Heat attempted 111 shots in this game while the Thunder had just 77.

Bam Adebayo had 30 points, 12 rebounds and four assists on 6-for-10 from 3-point range.

Shai Gilgeous-Alexander led OKC with 39 points, four rebounds and three assists.

There were eight ties and 10 lead changes in this game, with San Antonio leading by 25 points in the third quarter.

Minnesota fought back to take a lead in the final five minutes, but San Antonio was able to prevail.

Victor Wembanyama had 39 points, nine rebounds, three assists and two blocks.

De’aaron Fox finished with 25 points, three rebounds and 12 assists.

Anthony Edwards collected 55 points, four rebounds and three assists on 9-for-17 from 3-point range.

Anthony Edwards has missed most of this week due to a foot issue, but he’s clearly healthy in his return.

Edwards is up to 51 points in a matchup with the Spurs.

Phoenix ended the third quarter on a 12-0 run, and that catapulted them to this victory.

They held the lead for the entirety of the fourth quarter, despite neither team leading by more than 10 points.

Devin Booker led the way with 27 points, four rebounds and four assists.

Karl-Anthony Towns tallied 23 points, 11 rebounds and two assists.

Pistons Defeat Pacers, 121-78

This was a dominant win for Detroit, taking care of business after a 31-11 opening frame.

They shot 50 percent from the field while holding Indiana to 35 percent. They also out-assisted them, 32-18.

Cade Cunningham led the Pistons with 16 points, three rebounds and five assists.

Jalen Duren had 15 points, eight rebounds and four assists.

Celtics Defeat Hawks, 132-106

Boston shot 51 percent from the field and 42 percent from 3-point range while holding Atlanta to 37 percent from the field and 33 percent from long range.

Jaylen Brown only played 29 minutes, but he led the way with 41 points, six rebounds and two assists.

Sam Hauser shot 10-for-21 from 3-point range en route to 30 points.

Onyeka Okongwu led Atlanta with 21 points, seven rebounds and three assists.

Golden State shot 56 percent from the field and 50 percent from 3-point range in the opening half.

Phoenix ended that third quarter on a 12-0 run to take this narrow lead into the final quarter.

Miles McBride leads the Knicks with 19 points, two rebounds, five assists and two steals.

Thunder Lead Heat at the Half, 65-60

Oklahoma City shot 57 percent from the field in that opening half while holding Miami below 39 percent.

Shai Gilgeous-Alexander leads the way with 18 points on 6-for-7 shooting.

Bam Adebayo leads the Heat with 14 points and four rebounds.

Spurs Lead Timberwolves at the Half, 69-44

Minnesota has five straight wins over San Antonio, but the Spurs look poised to change that tide.

They shot 9-for-20 from 3-point range in the opening half while the Wolves shot 2-for-14.

Anthony Edwards leads Minnesota with 16 points.

Victor Wembanyama has 23 points, four rebounds and two assists to lead San Antonio.

Indiana is resting most of its starters in this game, but Detroit came to play.

Detroit held Indy below 25 percent shooting while shooting nearly 50 percent on their end.

Celtics Lead Hawks at the Half, 82-51

Boston ripped off a 23-5 run near the end of the half to take this dominant lead.

That’s a season-high 82 points for the Celtics.

Jaylen Brown leads all scorers with 29 points, two rebounds and two assists.

Sam Hauser is 7-for-8 from 3-point range, which accounts for all 21 of his points.

Nickeil Alexander-Walker leads ATL with 12 points, two rebounds and three assists.

Miami-OKC is underway

Oklahoma City maintains the best record in the NBA, but it’ll have a tough task in Miami.

The Thunder offense is humming early, shooting 11-for-14 from the field.

Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, Jalen Williams and Cason Wallace have combined for 23 points through just eight minutes.
