Portland outguns Stephen Curry’s magic

Players to hit 12+ threes in a game:
– Stephen Curry (5x) — including Sunday’s loss
– Klay Thompson (3x)
– Kobe Bryant
– Zach LaVine
– Damian Lillard
– Donyell Marshall
– Keegan Murray

The Trail Blazers are now 3-0 against Golden State this season…and they have a win over the Thunder. Even 48 points (16-26 FG, 12-19 3PM) from Curry was not enough in the Trail Blazers 136-131 victory.

Curry’s shooting was electrification. Portland could have been sharper bringing perimeter doubles, but largely there was no stopping Curry, who serpentined through teammates, scored off handoffs, and pulled up to knock down from wherever he wanted.

Portland’s defense remains a surprising disappointment this season, but Shaedon Sharpe (35 points, 12-18 FG) and Jerami Grant (35 points, 12-22 FG) put forth arguably their best outing of the season. Sharpe was shifty and smooth at all three levels. Hot shooting from beyond the arc to start the contest translated into his midrange self-creation and downhill balance down the stretch.

Grant (7-13 3PM) was remarkably confident and quick-triggered, leading Portland’s barrage of 20-for-39 3P shooting as a team.

Lakers 116, Suns 114: The Ending and Rundown⬇️

Los Angeles wins after a wild ending where no lead was safe. Improving to 18-7 and jumping back into the No. 4 spot in the West, 29 points for Luka Dončić and LeBron James’ 26 points — including 2-3 FT to give Los Angeles their final lead — anchored the offense.

Deandre Ayton had a double-double with 20 points and 13 rebounds. His production was much needed with Austin Reaves (calf) starting a multi-game absence.

The Lakers went on a 24-0 run spanning into the middle of the fourth quarter, but Phoenix punched back to take the lead and overcome the 20-point deficit before Los Angeles got the last laugh.

Devin Booker (27 points, 7-17 FG, 13-16 FT) was sharp, adding six rebounds and seven assists — with only one turnover — to his heavy scoring burden. He and Mark Williams (20 points, 9-10 FG) had one of their best games as a duo.

Chef.

Stephen Curry — more to come. Curry must be seen to be believed. He still navigates the floor and hits tough shots like no other. He’s in a different mode right now as Golden State has a 83-79 lead over the Trail Blazers midway through Q3.

10:25 PM / DECEMBER 14, 2025

What a run🤯🤯

A tight game entering Q4 has turned into the Lake Show as Los Angeles moves into a 109-95 advantage with just under five minutes remaining.

However, Phoenix isn’t fading. Devin Booker (27 points, six assists) is the run stopper. The Suns still have time.

JAXSON HAYES RACK ATTACK

Headed into Q4 — Lakers 86, Suns 77

Luka Dončić leads all scorers with 26 points (6-22 FG, 1-11 3PM, 13-14 FT), but a combination of cold shooting and quality defense from Phoenix has created a struggle for the Slovenian.

Jaxson Hayes is bringing energy — headlined by this bodied slam — off the bench with eight points (3-3 FG) and eight rebounds. He has been in a battle with Mark Williams (14 points, three blocks) throughout Sunday’s contest.

Pelicans win, Zion impactful in return

Zion Williamson delivered 18 points (7-15 FG), six rebounds, two assists and no turnovers across 27 minutes of action as New Orleans beat Chicago 114-104. Williamson had missed the last six games with a thigh injury.

In addition to Williamson’s presence, Trey Murphy and Jeremiah Fears co-led with 20 points each for the Pelicans.

Coby White matches them with 20 points (8-18 FG, 1-10 3PA) for Chicago, although his shooting struggles from beyond the arc are emblematic of Chicago’s weakpoint on the night. The Bulls connected on just 27.0% of 49 3PA.

No Ant? No problem. Wolves beat Kings

In a tale of two halves where Minnesota opened up a 16-point lead to make the deficit seem greater than it was throughout the majority of the contest, The Timberwolves took care of business with a 117-103 win over Sacramento.

Bones Hyland (18 points, five assists, two turnovers) was efficient and critical as Edwards (foot) and Mike Conley (Achilles) both missed a second consecutive game. Hyland fits Minnesota’s vibe and can be a connective player, so continued success from him would be a notable revelation for the Timberwolves.

Julius Randle led all scorers with 24 points (9-21 FG) while tacking on 10 rebounds. Naz Reid joins him with a double-double at 20 points and 11 rebounds.

The Suns and Lakers are tied 62 apiece. Luka Dončić leads all scorers with 17 points (5-12 FG, 6-7 FT). LeBron James co-stars with 15 points (4-7 FG, 7-10 FT), but has been plagued by six turnovers.

Phoenix has a trio of double-digit scorers led by Royce O’Neale (12 points), Devin Booker (10 points) and Mark Williams (10 points).

Hawks win a battle. Emerge 120-117

Paul George’s 35 points (11-21 FG, 7-10 3PM) came in primetime fashion, featuring self-created threes and patented midrange, but Atlanta survives in a game that was never separated by more than 10 points throughout the second half.

Dyson Daniels delivered a season-high 27 points (13-19 FG). Vit Krejci (19 points, 4-6 3PM) continued solidifying his position as one of the top shooters off the bench in the league.

Philadelphia was playing without Tyrese Maxey (illness), leading to extra usage for VJ Edgecombe (26 points, 9-21 FG). Joel Embiid looked spry en route to 22 points and 14 rebounds in 30 minutes of action.

Jalen Johnson has secured his fourth straight triple-double, tied with Nikola Jokic for the longest triple-double streak in the NBA this season. He now owns eight career triple-doubles, setting Atlanta’s franchise record by passing Mookie Blaylock (7).

Hornets win, hold Cleveland scoreless in OT

Charlotte’s young duo of Kon Knueppel and Brandon Miller fueled a 119-111 OT victory over Cleveland in a gritty affair that featured the Hornets playing with more energy throughout the majority of regulation.

That aforementioned duo is making noise.

Knueppel has averaged 20.0 points, 5.9 rebounds and 3.9 assists on 62 TS% over his last 20 games. He joins Steve Francis (2000) and Michael Jordan (1985) as the only rookies since 1982-83 to exceed 20-5-3 over any 20-game span.

Brandon Miller notched the first game of his career with 25 points, 10 rebounds and 5 assists.

Darius Garland (26 points, 8-19 FG) continues navigating a difficult toe injury, but he kept Cleveland’s offense afloat while Donovan Mitchell (17 points, 6-24 FG) was stifled. Jaylon Tyson (16 points, 13 rebounds) extends his double-digit scoring streak to a career-high seven games.

5:57 PM / DECEMBER 14, 2025

Chaos for the Cavs, Brandon Miller equalizes🎯

A scramble drill and backcourt pressure from Lonzo Ball leads to a Jaylon Tyson (16 points) floater for the lead, but Brandon Miller (23 points) immediately responds on the other end.

Tied at 111 with 5 seconds remaining, Donovan Mitchell’s midrange jumper hits back iron and overtime is coming in Cleveland.

Wizards make Indiana disappear, 108-89

With a plus-15 advantage in the rebounding battle, Marvin Bagley III (23 points, 14 rebounds) and Justin Champagne (13 points, 14 rebounds) keyed the effort in a near wire-to-wire victory for Washington.

Indiana mustered just 36.9% shooting from the field as a team. Bennedict Mathurin (15 points, 3-9 FG, 8-8 FT) led the Pacers in scoring, while Isaiah Jackson (12 points, 11 rebounds) posted his fifth double-double of the season and first since Nov. 29.

5:21 PM / DECEMBER 14, 2025

Cleveland comeback👀👀

Getting tight down the stretch in Cleveland! The Cavaliers have surged in Q4, but Kon Knueppel and Brandon Miller have delivered timely buckets to keep Charlotte ahead.

Clutch defense from rookie Sion James has also been big in limiting Donovan Mitchell (17 points) to 6-for-19 shooting).

4:35 PM / DECEMBER 14, 2025

Good ball for Charlotte

Kon Knueppel leads all scorers with 12 points (5-9 FG), as a smooth first half for Charlotte ends in a 57-47 lead.

The Hornets are 10-for-23 from deep compared to Cleveland connecting on just 29.4% of 17 3PA thus far.

Jarrett Allen is an uncharacteristic 1-for-6 from the field, while Donovan Mitchell and Jaylon Tyson each have nine points to lead Cleveland’s offense.

4:12 PM / DECEMBER 14, 2025

Wizards imposing will, up 58-47 at halftime

Physicality is becoming a storyline in Indiana, as Washington owns a 35-23 lead in the rebounding battle. Marvin Bagley has 11 points and seven rebounds to lead the Wizards in both categories.
