Kevin Durant and the Rockets earned a 117-113 overtime win over the Magic on Sunday. 

What we know about Sunday’s games:

  • Stephen Curry wasn’t able to replicate his elite 46 and 49-point performances from his last two contests, but he and the Warriors were able to move past the Pelicans, 124-106, for their third straight win. Most of their offense instead came from Moses Moody, who hit 7 first-quarter triples, joining Curry and Klay Thompson as the only Warriors to hit 7 or more triples in a single quarter. 
  • In a battle of two of the hotter squads in the Association, it was the Rockets earning a 117-113 overtime win over the Magic. Durant and Sengun combined for 65 points and lifted Houston to the win, and they’re now 9-1 in their last 10 games.
  • The Hawks won their 5th straight game, while bringing the Suns’ 5-game winning streak to an end. Jalen Johnson was dominant once again, finishing with 25 points, 10 boards, 7 assists, and a +21 in the 124-122 win.

Jazz plays to double OT victory

Utah was able to outlast the Bulls through 10 extra minutes of basketball, thanks to Keyonte George burying a triple with 2.0 seconds left on the clock, to bring home the 150-147 win.

The triple allowed George to finish with 34 points, to go with 6 assists and 4 steals. It was Markkanen who led Utah in scoring, though, finishing with 47 points. He also added 7 boards, 2 assists, 2 steals, and 2 blocks.

The Bulls were led by their backcourt duo, Josh Giddey, who had a 26-point, 12-rebound, and 13-assist triple-double, and Coby White, making his season debut and scoring 27.

Double overtime on tap

We’ve had three games go to an extra session tonight, and now the Bulls and Jazz will go to double overtime.

Coby White, making his season debut, was the man to force the tie, scoring this layup with 0.2 seconds left on the clock to tie things up at 136.

More bonus basketball on the way

We’ve got our third overtime game of the night, with the Bulls and Jazz finishing four quarters of ball, evened up at 127.

It was ultimately Josh Giddey’s floater with 37.2 seconds left on the clock that got us here,

Lauri Markkanen would later split a pair of free throws, bringing the game to a tie before the end of regulation.

Mavericks ride to victory

It was a high-octane overtime, with Dallas outscoring Portland 20-15 in the extra session, and getting the 138-133 victory.

This sequence pretty much sums up what OT looked like,

The Mavericks had 7 double-digit scorers, with Flagg and P.J. Washington tying for a team-high 21 points.

Portland got the bulk of its scoring from three men: Shaedon Sharpe, who had 36 points, with Deni Avdija adding 29, and Jerami Grant scoring 26.

No surrender from Flagg

We’re getting even more bonus basketball in Texas, this time over in Dallas, as they head to overtime against Portland, knotted up at 118.

The man to make it happen was Cooper Flagg, who made this tough bucket in the clutch.

Rockets win in overtime

This one had instant classic vibes, with the back-and-forth final seconds of the fourth quarter to get to overtime, which also went down to the wire. In the end, the Rockets came out on top, 117-113.

Just like in regulation, it was Segun and Durant who were at the forefront of the Rockets’ success.

Whether it was Alperen battling in the paint and handing out dimes,

Or Durant finding the bottom of the bucket in the clutch.

Durent would finish with a game-high 35 points, with 5 rebounds and 6 assists, while Sengun would add 30, with 5 boards, and 8 dishes.

Bonus basketball in Houston

We’re getting some amazing basketball between the Rockets and Magic, and with that, an incredible finish to regulation.

First, Duran buries a triple to tie it at 100,

Then, after a stop, Black swipes the loose ball on an in-bounds pass and dunks it home with 1.7 left to take a 102-100 lead.

It wasn’t over, though. Amen Thompson rifles it to Sengun in the paint, who hits the quick hook and turnaround to square things up at 102.

They’re now headed to overtime on NBA League Pass!

Coast-to-Coast

It’s easy to see why Cooper Flagg was the No. 1 selection in the 2025 NBA Draft when you see plays like this.

First, he gets in the passing lane for the swipe, avoids the defenders while keeping the handle, and weaves through traffic. Then hits the Euro step and gets the finish with an and-one on top of it.

The Mavericks and Trail Blazers are knotted up at 84, with 2:48 left in the third.

Going down to the wire

It’s a tight one in Houston, with the Rockets trailing the Magic by 2, 94-92, with just minutes left in the game.

Part of their success tonight has been Kevin Durant’s game-high 27 points, but it’s also been Alperen Sengun, who has 23, including this poster.

They’re blasting off in Houston

This is a pretty play here, starting with the Tristan da Silva spin move, then once he hits the paint, he spots Anthony Black and tosses up the perfect lob for the poster finish.

Before that, the masked Wagner, who has 25 points, took it hard to the rim

Orlando has an 80-77 lead as the third quarter has come to a close.

More dunks in Phoenix

This time it’s Ryan Dunn getting it off the rim for a ferocious finish.

It’s Devin Booker, though, doing most of the damage for the Suns, scoring 12 of their 21 first-quarter points.

They trail the Hawks, 25-21, after one.

Jalen Johnson has never met a rim he couldn’t rock, and he’s already done it twice in Phoenix.

First on the lob,

then off the rebound,

Johnson and the Hawks have an early lead on the Suns, 22-15.

Ace detonates

The Jazz are off to a quick start offensively, scoring 13 points in less than 5 minutes against the Bulls.

5 of those 13 points have come from Ace Bailey, and 2 of those 5 come here on this explosive dunk from the rook.

Utah currently leads Chicago 18-12, just past the midpoint of the first quarter.

Reed Sheppard has been money off the bench for Houston tonight, scoring 10 points.

He’s shooting 2-for-3 from triple territory, and really, how do you stop this when he creates that much space with the dribble?

Orlando, backed by 16 from Wagner, is leading the Rockets 55-46 at halftime.

Coulibaly skied for a tough one-handed slam earlier, and he added another one here, driving through more traffic this time.

The Nets, though, have a 94-84 lead over the Wizards heading into the fourth quarter.

Moody mania

Moses Moody went nuts from three-point land in the first quarter against the Pelicans.

He buried 7 triples in a single quarter. He joins Klay Thompson and Stephen Curry as the only players in franchise history to accomplish the feat.

Moody is still stuck on 21 points nearing the midpoint of the 2nd frame, but the Warriors lead 47-37.

Masked man on the loose

Orlando is without Paolo Banchero (groin), but they do have the man in the mask, Franz Wagner. He has scored a quick 11 points on 4-for-6 shooting and has the Magic leading the Rockets 25-16 late in the first quarter.

Fox powers Spurs

San Antonio was without Wembanyama (calf) tonight, but De’Aaron Fox had no issue picking up the slack, scoring 28 points in his fifth game back. Not only was he his team’s leading scorer, but he also added a game-high 11 assists.

D.C. stands for dunking Coulibaly

Bilal Coulibaly skies with the right hand and puts it down with authority.

The young Wizard has 4 points and 2 steals so far, but Washington is trailing the Nets 46-38 four minutes into the second quarter. Porter Jr. leads the way for Brooklyn, with 13 points.

Celtics hang on

Harden buried two triples with less than 10 seconds remaining in the game, but the Clippers could not get over the hump and fell to Boston, 121-118.

Pritchard finished with 28 points after catching fire from three-point land, but it was Jaylen Brown who led the team with 33 points and 12 rebounds.

Despite the loss, it can’t be understated how clutch Harden was down the stretch, while providing a handful of highlights and finishing with 37 points, 7 rebounds, and 8 assists, while almost bringing the Clippers a victory.

Dunks are bigger in Texas

The slam fest continues in San Antonio, with Keldon Johnson flexing on the rim again with the double-pump before the flush.

The Spurs are maintaining control against the Kings, up 95-85 with the fourth quarter still to go.

Midpoint in San Antonio

The Spurs are without Victor Wembanyama (calf) tonight, but it hasn’t mattered so far, as they lead 67-59 at the break.

The first half has featured a string of highlight dunks from Keldon Johnson, Devin Vassell, and Malik Monk, which you can check out below in order.

Also of note, Russell Westbrook has moved up to 18th on the NBA all-time scoring list.

Boston Three Party for Pritchard

The story so far in Boston is Payton Pritchard.

He has been on fire from long distance, shooting 8-for-12 from beyond the arc and supplying the Celtics with 26 points.

Boston leads the Clippers 86-74 with three minutes remaining in the third quarter.
