James, the NBA’s all-time leading scorer, is the first player in NBA history to reach 23 seasons in the league. Entering tonight’s matchup against Sacramento (10 ET, NBA League Pass), he trails Robert Parish by only 30 games for the most games played in NBA history.
The 41-year-old superstar, who missed the first 14 games of the season due to sciatica, has surged since his birthday on Dec. 30 with averages of 28.3 points (on 55.6% shooting), 8.5 assists and 8.3 rebounds over his first four games in January, which are stats higher than his career averages of 26.9 points, 7.4 assists and 7.5 rebounds.
The Lakers (23-13) are currently fifth in the Western Conference standings.
