Four-time All-Star Devin Booker has agreed on a two-year, $145 million contract extension to remain with the Phoenix Suns through the 2029-30 season, per multiple reports.

The extension was confirmed on July 10.

The extension brings some semblance of stability to the Suns amid a tumultuous offseason that has seen them trade Kevin Durant to Houston and reportedly consider buying out Bradley Beal while hiring Jordan Ott as coach.

Provided he fulfills the entirety of his new deal, Booker will have played 15 seasons in Phoenix, cementing his status as perhaps the foremost player in franchise history.

Phoenix failed to make the playoffs despite a roster that included Booker, Durant and Beal. The Suns fired coach Mike Budenholzer after one season with the high-priced roster, replacing him Ott, a former Cleveland Cavaliers assistant. Phoenix also fired general manager James Jones and promoted Brian Gregory.

Drafted 13th out of Kentucky in 2015, the 28-year-old shooting guard holds the Suns’ records for career points (16,452) and 3-pointers (1,424). His career scoring average of 24.4 points per game ranks third behind only Durant and Charlie Scott.

Booker led the Suns to the NBA Finals in 2021, their first appearance in the championship round in nearly 30 years. But despite the splashy additions of Durant and Beal in 2023, the Suns never made it past the Western Conference semifinals before firing coach Budenholzer and sending Durant to Houston on July 6.

Booker has continued to produce through it all, averaging 25.6 points — his ninth straight campaign of 22 or better — and 7.1 assists per game last season.
