
The Portland Trail Blazers selected Damian Lillard with the No. 6 pick the 2012 NBA Draft.
The NBA lottery was instituted for the 1985 Draft. The Portland Trail Blazers have regularly picked within the lottery the last few years after going nearly a decade without being slotted in the top 14. Let’s highlight each lottery selection that has been made by the team in its history.
Donovan Clingan – 2024 (7th Overall)
Clingan started 37 of 67 games during his rookie season. He averaged 6.5 points, 7.9 rebounds and 1.6 blocks.
Bub Carrington – 2024 (14th Overall)
Carrington was traded to the Wizards in July 2024 in a deal that saw Deni Avdija end up with the Trail Blazers.
Scoot Henderson – 2023 (3rd Overall)
Henderson has started 42 of 128 career games with the Trail Blazers. In 2024-25, he averaged 12.7 points, 3.0 rebounds and 5.1 assists.
Shaedon Sharpe – 2022 (7th Overall)
Sharpe has appeared in at least 72 games in two of his three seasons with the Trail Blazers. In 2024-25, he averaged 18.5 points, 4.5 rebounds and 2.8 assists.
CJ McCollum – 2013 (10th Overall)
McCollum won the Kia Most Improved Player award in 2015-16. He appeared in 564 games for the Trail Blazers and averaged 19.0 points, 3.4 assists and 2.3 3-pointers.
Damian Lillard – 2012 (6th Overall)
Lillard won the 2012-13 Kia Rookie of the Year award and made seven All-Star teams with the Trail Blazers. Over 769 regular season games with the franchise, he averaged 25.2 points, 4.2 rebounds, 6.7 assists and 3.1 3-pointers.
Meyers Leonard – 2012 (11th Overall)
Leonard spent the first seven seasons of his career with the Trail Blazers. Over 393 games with the team, he averaged 5.6 points and 3.7 rebounds.
Brandon Rush – 2008 (13th Overall)
Rush was traded to the Pacers in July 2008 before ever appearing in a game for the Trail Blazers. He played for the Pacers, Warriors, Jazz and Timberwolves during his career.
Greg Oden – 2007 (1st Overall)
Injuries forced Oden to miss significant time with the Trail Blazers. He only played 82 games with the team, averaging 9.4 points, 7.3 rebounds and 1.4 blocks.
Tyrus Thomas – 2006 (4th Overall)
Thomas was traded to the Bulls in a draft-day deal that landed LaMarcus Aldridge with the Trail Blazers.
Martell Webster – 2005 (6th Overall)
Webster played 301 games across five seasons with the Trail Blazers. His best season was in 2007-08 when he averaged 10.7 points and 3.9 rebounds.
Sebastian Telfair – 2004 (13th Overall)
Telfair played two seasons for the Trail Blazers, averaging 8.1 points and 3.5 assists across 136 games. He was traded to the Celtics prior to the 2006-07 season.
Shawn Respert – 1995 (9th Overall)
Respert was traded to the Bucks on draft day for Gary Trent and a 1997 first-round draft pick.
Walter Berry – 1986 (14th Overall)
Berry played in just seven games for the Trail Blazers during his rookie season before being traded to the Spurs for Kevin Duckworth.
