The Los Angeles Lakers are one of the more storied franchises in the NBA. During their history, they have had some of the best players in NBA history play for the team. Let’s highlight the players who have been named All-NBA First Team while members of the Lakers.
Elgin Baylor – 10 Times (1959, 1960, 1961, 1962, 1963, 1964, 1965, 1967, 1968, 1969)
Elgin Baylor won the 1958-59 Rookie of the Year award and made 11 All-Star teams during his career. He spent his entire career with the Lakers, averaging 27.4 points and 13.5 rebounds per game.
Jerry West – 10 Times (1962, 1963, 1964, 1965, 1966, 1967, 1970, 1971, 1972, 1973)
West made 14 All-Star teams and won one championship during his career. He played his entire career with the Lakers, averaging 27.0 points, 5.8 rebounds and 6.7 assists per game.
Kobe Bryant – 9 Times (2004, 2006, 2007, 2008, 2009, 2010, 2011, 2012, 2013)
Bryant made 18 All-Star teams and won five championships with the Lakers. He also won one regular-season MVP award and was named Finals MVP twice. He played his entire career with the Lakers, averaging 25.0 points, 5.2 rebounds and 4.7 assists per game.
Magic Johnson – 9 Times (1983, 1984, 1985, 1986, 1987, 1988, 1989, 1990, 1991)
Johnson won three MVP awards and made 12 All-Star teams during his career. He won five titles, three of which he was named Finals MVP. He played with the Lakers for his entire career, averaging 19.5 points, 7.2 rebounds and 11.2 assists per game.
Kareem Abdul-Jabbar – 6 Times (1976, 1977, 1980, 1981, 1984, 1986)
Abdul-Jabbar won three regular season MVPs and five championships with the Lakers. He was also named the MVP of the 1985 Finals. Across 14 seasons with the Lakers, he averaged 22.1 points and 9.4 rebounds per game.
George Mikan – 6 Times (1949, 1950, 1951, 1952, 1953, 1954)
Mikan led the league in points per game in each of his first three seasons. While he only played a total of seven seasons, he still achieved this honor six times, while also winning five championships.
Shaquille O’Neal – 6 Times (1998, 2000, 2001, 2001, 2003, 2004)
O’Neal made seven All-Star teams and won one regular season MVP award with the Lakers. He won three championships with the franchise and was named Finals MVP for each of them.
Jim Pollard – 2 Times (1949, 1950)
Pollard played seven seasons, all of which were with the Lakers. He made four All-Star teams and won five championships.
Gail Goodrich – 1974
Goodrich played all 82 games in 1973-74, averaging 25.3 points and 5.2 assists per game. Over nine seasons with the Lakers, he made four All-Star teams and won one championship.
Anthony Davis – 2020
Davis averaged 26.1 points, 9.3 rebounds, 3.2 assists, 1.5 steals and 2.3 blocks during the 2019-20 season. The Lakers won the championship that season with Davis averaging 27.7 points per game in the playoffs.
LeBron James – 2020
James was also a member of the 2020 Lakers team that won a championship. That season, he averaged 25.3 points, 7.8 rebounds and 10.2 assists per game.
