2026 NBA Summer League: Lakers cruise to win over Thunder

LAS VEGAS – Adou Thiero scored 20 points, Cameron Carr added 18 and the Lakers defeated the Thunder, 96-84, at the 2026 NBA Summer League on Friday night.

The Lakers were up by 10 at halftime and outscored the Thunder 33-23 in the third period to build a massive 20-point advantage with 10 minutes left.

Thiero not only led the Lakers in scoring with his 20-point effort but also added four rebounds, four assists, three steals and two blocks.

Carr, the No. 24 overall pick in the 2026 NBA Draft, added 18 points while shooting 7-for-13 from the field.

Anton Watson had 15 points, and Arthur Kaluma chipped in with 18 points off the bench while shooting a perfect 5-for-5 from the field.

Five players scored in double digits for the Thunder in this loss, and first-round pick Bennett Stirtz was their leading scorer with 18 points.

Brooks Barnhizer posted a solid line of 12 points and 10 rebounds, adding two assists and two steals.

Aday Mara, the No. 12 overall pick, missed all three of his field-goal attempts but grabbed seven rebounds and blocked two shots.

The Lakers will return to action Saturday on a back-to-back against the Dallas Mavericks (10 ET, ESPN).

The Thunder will play Sunday against the Golden State Warriors (6 ET, ESPN).
