LAS VEGAS – The Dallas Mavericks held off an Oklahoma City Thunder comeback to win, 97-87, in a 2026 NBA Summer League matchup at Thomas and Mack Center on Thursday afternoon.
The Mavericks rode a well-balanced offensive effort that included six double-digit point tallies, made partly possible by the No. 25 overall pick in the 2026 NBA Draft Sergio de Larrea’s game-high 14 assists. Dallas shot a solid 45.8% overall and enjoyed a massive 47-25 edge in second-unit scoring.
It was a highly competitive first half that culminated with Dallas holding a 49-45 lead, but the Mavericks were dominant in the third quarter, outscoring OKC by a 28-18 margin. However, the Thunder battled back to get within six with 3:42 remaining before Dallas sealed the win with a game-ending 9-5 run.
John Poulakidas led the Mavericks with 19 points. Darin Green Jr. finished 18 points and five rebounds.
Brooks Barnhizer continued his productive summer by leading the Thunder with a 21-point, 12-rebound double-double.
The Mavericks are back in action Friday afternoon for a consolation game against the Knicks (8:30 ET, Prime Video), as the Thunder’s Summer League action ends.
