LAS VEGAS – Caleb Wilson broke a record for the most points in a Las Vegas Summer League debut with 35 points, but his efforts weren’t enough as the Chicago Bulls lost to the Memphis Grizzlies 97-96 on Friday.

Wilson, the No. 4 overall pick in the 2026 NBA Draft out of UNC, finished with a game-high 35 points while shooting 12-for-21 from the floor and 7-for-11 from 3-point range.

The Grizzlies established control early on and used a 12-0 scoring run midway through the opening 10 minutes to build a 23-17 lead after the first quarter.

Memphis would extend its lead even further, and a 28-23 score in the third quarter gave the Grizzlies an 11-point lead. The Bulls outscored Memphis 28-18 in the final frame, but it wasn’t enough in the end.

Cameron Boozer (23 points) and Caleb Wilson (35 points) put on a show in Las Vegas.

Cameron Boozer, the No. 3 overall pick out of Duke, led the way for Memphis with 23 points, six rebounds and four assists.

All five starters scored in double digits for Memphis, including Cedric Coward, who delivered a 17-point, 10-rebound double-double, and Javon Small, who had 15 points and three assists.

The Grizzlies got the win despite a subpar shooting display from three-point range, making just three of their 21 attempts (14.3%).

Chicago starters Jaylin Sellers (15 points, four rebounds, four assists) and Noa Essengue (10 points, five boards, four blocks, two steals) were the only other Bulls in double figures. Chicago shot 43.5 percent from the floor and 43.8 percent from beyond the arc.

Both teams will return to the hardwood Monday, July 13. The Bulls will face the Utah Jazz (9 ET, ESPN), while the Grizzlies will take on the Dallas Mavericks at (7 ET, ESPN)
