SACRAMENTO – An efficient shooting afternoon that included a 47-point effort from the second unit and a dominant showing in the paint helped the Milwaukee Bucks overcome an early deficit to record a comfortable 97-83 victory over the Golden State Warriors Blue in a 2026 California Classic Summer League matchup at Golden 1 Center on Saturday afternoon.
Brandon Boston Jr. paced the Bucks with 17 points, adding four rebounds, three assists and two steals. Kira Lewis Jr. and Bogoljub Marković each scored 14 points, with Lewis dishing five assists and Marković pulling down seven rebounds. Cormac Ryan added 13 points.
Lottery picks Brayden Burries and Nate Ament did not play in the contest.
The Blue was clicking on all cylinders early, as Golden State already sported a 25-18 advantage at the end of one quarter with the help of a 9-2 game-opening run.
However, the Bucks came to life in the middle periods, outscoring the hosts by a massive 59-33 margin in that span to head into the final quarter with a 19-point lead.
While that proved to be the high point of its advantage, Milwaukee didn’t allow Golden State to close tighter than seven points over the final 10 minutes. They sported an expansive 58-34 scoring edge in the paint on the afternoon.
RJ Nembhard led the Blue with 15 points. Nick Boyd delivered 11 points, three assists and two steals. David Green netted 10 points. Reese Dixon-Waters led the second unit with nine points, supplementing them with four rebounds.
Both teams are right back in action Sunday afternoon, as the Bucks face the Brooklyn Nets and the Blue tangles with the Sacramento Kings.
