2026-27 Amex Season Preview

2026-27 NBA GM Survey: 48 questions before new season

NBA general managers respond to 48 questions in the annual survey about the best teams, players, coaches and offseason moves.

The San Antonio Spurs are both the team of the future and the team of the present.

In the 25th annual NBA GM Survey, the Spurs are the most popular pick to win the championship and the top pick (by a wider margin) for best young core. Victor Wembanyama, Stephon Castle and Dylan Harper are just 22, 21 and 20 years old, respectively, and they’re capable of winning a title right now.

Wembanyama received the most votes for MVP and the player GMs would most like to start a franchise with, and he set records for both categories with the highest percentage of votes in GM Survey history. Overall, Wembanyama earned the top spot for eight different questions.

The GMs responded to 48 questions about the best teams, players, coaches and offseason moves. General managers were not permitted to vote for their own team or personnel.
