Tending to hip contusion
Suggs' timeline to resume playing remains murky, as his return date will depend on how quickly he responds to treatment. At least for the time being, fantasy managers can consider him unlikely to play in Thursday's game against Denver. Anthony Black has stepped up this season and could be asked to carry more responsibility out of the backcourt in Suggs' potential absence, and Tyus Jones could also take on a more prominent role in the backcourt rotation.

May miss extended time
Suggs was clearly battling discomfort for a few games, but he was playing through the pain and scored 25 first-half points against the Knicks on Saturday during an NBA Cup semifinals matchup. However, the point guard aggravated the issue in the third quarter and was ultimately unable to finish the contest despite multiple efforts to stay in the game. Suggs will be evaluated over the next couple of days, but it sounds like the team is preparing to be without him for at least a few weeks. "He's been battling through some pain the last few games," Magic forward Paolo Banchero said. "He's just been giving it his all for the team and kind of playing through it, so you hope it's not too bad, whatever the injury is. We don't want to lose him."

Leads bench in loss
The rookie first-rounder did not see the floor in the first three quarters but played the last 7:35 with Jalen Suggs (hip) exiting to the locker room and not returning. Richardson impressed during his limited run and ended with a bench-high nine points for Orlando. The Michigan State product is not guaranteed to play meaningful minutes on a nightly basis, though he could see increased playing time if Suggs is forced to miss additional time.
