Martin missed the Raptors' Summer League finale on July 19, and he didn't play in the preseason opener either. However, even if he's cleared to play before the regular season starts, he is unlikely to be a regular member of the rotation. Martin appeared in just 23 regular-season games in 2025-26, averaging 6.3 minutes and 2.2 points per game.

Hepburn missed time during the 2026 Las Vegas Summer League due to a knee issue. However, he was back on the floor Saturday, tying Scottie Barnes in scoring. The 23-year-old went undrafted in 2025 but managed to sign a two-way contract with Toronto. He spent most of the 2025-26 campaign in the G League with Raptors 905, averaging 12.3 points, 1.9 rebounds, 8.8 assists and 2.3 steals across 29.2 minutes in 19 games. Hepburn may see most of his action in the G League once again in 2026-27, though his abilities on the defensive side of the ball could earn him a spot on the main roster at some point moving forward.

Antetokounmpo also committed two turnovers, but the star guard delivered a dominant performance in a brief 14-minute cameo, showing he'll be the gravitational force on offense for the Heat when he's on the court. Expect Miami to manage Antetokounmpo's workload carefully during the preseason with an eye toward having him in top-notch condition for the regular-season opener against the Timberwolves on Wednesday, Oct. 21.

Barrett was efficient from deep Saturday, and he managed to tie Tyreke Key with a game-high in scoring. The 26-year-old averaged 19.3 points, 5.3 rebounds and 3.3 assists over 30.3 minutes per contest during the 2025-26 campaign. However, he appeared in less than 58 regular-season games for the third consecutive year. Regardless of what the future holds for Barrett, he will need to remain healthy. His three-point shooting also needs work, especially since he shot a career-high 40.1 percent from downtown in 2020-21, his second season in the NBA.

While Horford will be available for the preseason opener in Hawaii, head coach Steve Kerr said he will see action only in the first half and play "around 12-16 minutes." The 2007 No. 3 overall pick wasn't a routine contributor for the Warriors during the 2025-26 campaign, averaging 8.3 points and 4.9 rebounds, both career lows, along with 2.6 assists and 1.1 blocks over 21.5 minutes in 45 regular-season games. Although that is likely to remain the case in 2026-27, Horford could be tasked with an enhanced role right out of the gate, considering Kristaps Porzingis (undisclosed) might miss time to begin the year.

Head coach Steve Kerr stated Green, Stephen Curry and Al Horford would all be available for the preseason opener. However, all three will play only in the first half and be on the floor "around 12-16 minutes." Green most recently averaged 8.4 points, 5.5 rebounds and 5.5 assists over 27.5 minutes in 68 regular-season games in 2025-26. While his production has remained the same for the most part in the last few seasons, his numbers could improve, considering Jimmy Butler (knee) will miss the start of the 2026-27 campaign. In addition, it's unknown if Kristaps Porzingis (undisclosed) will be ready to go for Opening Night.

Curry is one of three veterans who will be playing reduced minutes in the preseason opener Sunday, alongside Draymond Green and Al Horford. The Warriors are clearly trying to keep Curry in the best possible condition before the regular season after he was limited to just 43 regular-season contests in 2025-26 because of a nagging knee injury.

Mitchell agreed to a four-year, $275 million extension during the offseason after leading the Cavaliers to the Eastern Conference Finals in 2025-26. While the new contract should have extinguished any doubt regarding Mitchell's desire to remain with the organization moving forward, Merrill recalled how things went during the last extension. "Donovan's 100 percent committed here," Merrill stated. "I remember when he signed his last extension, when everyone thought he was going to leave and there [were] questions about it." The 30-year-old has spent the last four seasons in Cleveland after beginning his career in Utah. He most recently appeared in 70 regular-season games, averaging 27.9 points, 5.7 assists, 4.5 rebounds and 1.5 steals over 33.5 minutes per contest. Mitchell has been a top fantasy contributor for years, and his all-around production gives him top-10 upside in all fantasy formats.

Walter will start in Toronto's first preseason game, though it's unknown how long he will be on the floor. The 22-year-old started 19 regular-season games in 2025-26, averaging 9.5 points, 3.8 rebounds, 1.6 assists and 1.2 steals over 25.7 minutes in those appearances.

It was reported Friday that Adebayo was expected to play Saturday, and he's since been cleared to suit up for Miami's preseason opener. The big man shot a career-worst 44.2 percent from the field last season but averaged a double-double for the fourth time in his career. Over 73 regular-season appearances in 2025-26, Adebayo averaged 20.1 points, 10.0 rebounds, 3.2 assists and 1.9 combined steals-plus-blocks in 32.4 minutes per showing.

Antetokounmpo is set to make his Heat debut in the team's preseason opener Saturday. The two-time MVP has been a full go in training camp after appearing in just 36 regular-season games with the Bucks in 2025-26, when he averaged 27.6 points, 9.8 rebounds, 5.4 assists and 1.6 combined steals-plus-blocks in 28.9 minutes per tilt.

Battle was held out of Thursday's scrimmage due to a lower-back injury, and he'll remain sidelined for Toronto's preseason opener. His next chance to play in the preseason will come next Saturday against the Clippers.

Jackson-Davis is one of several Toronto players who won't suit up for Saturday's preseason opener, joining Allen Graves (groin), Kyle Anderson (knee), Kawhi Leonard (not injury related) and Jamison Battle (back) on the sidelines. Jackson-Davis' next chance to play will come against the Clippers on Saturday, Oct. 10.

Anderson will miss the Raptors' preseason opener after sitting out Thursday's scrimmage with a right knee contusion. His next opportunity to suit up in the preseason will come next Saturday against the Clippers.

Graves didn't participate in Thursday's scrimmage due to a groin injury, and he'll also be held out of the team's preseason opener. His next chance to suit up will come in next Saturday's preseason game against the Clippers.

Leonard is expected to miss both of Toronto's first two preseason games as part of his ramp-up plan. He'll have three more chances to suit up before the regular season if he's held out of next Saturday's contest.

Lopez started 40 of his 75 regular-season appearances in 2025-26, averaging 8.5 points, 3.6 rebounds, 1.3 assists and 1.2 blocks across 21.8 minutes per game on the campaign. The 38-year-old will face plenty of competition for minutes throughout the season, as Jackson could take Lopez's spot in the starting five. Additionally, Yanic Konan Niederhauser (foot) could fight for minutes once he's cleared to return.

Jackson was traded from Indiana to Los Angeles last February and averaged 7.5 points, 4.6 rebounds, 1.2 assists and 1.2 blocks across 15.8 minutes per game in 17 regular-season appearances off the bench with the Clippers last season. Head coach Ty Lue may still opt to start veteran big man Brook Lopez to begin the regular season, so Jackson will look to impress during the preseason. He'll face competition for minutes from Lopez and Yanic Konan Niederhauser (foot), who will miss time to begin the year.

It's unclear when Sanders began dealing with the hip issue, though it'll keep him out of the Clippers' preseason opener. He will also be limited to individual work during Saturday's practice, per Ohm Youngmisuk of ESPN.com. Sanders' next opportunity to suit up during the preseason will come next Saturday against the Raptors.

Huntley missed the Suns' final three Las Vegas Summer League games with a hamstring injury, though he's good to go for the team's preseason opener. The two-way player figures to spend most of his time with the G League's Valley Suns this season.

The big man signed with the Suns in mid-September following the news that Mark Williams (shoulder) would miss several months, and Reath will compete for a spot in Phoenix's rotation during the preseason. Over 32 regular-season appearances for the Trail Blazers in 2025-26, he averaged 2.9 points and 1.2 rebounds in 8.1 minutes per game.

Sarr has been limited in training camp thus far while working his way back from surgery he underwent in mid-June to repair a fractured right foot. The big man is expected to be ready for the start of the regular season, though it's unclear how active he'll be during the preseason. Over 48 regular-season games in 2025-26, he averaged 16.3 points, 7.4 rebounds, 2.7 assists, 2.0 blocks and 0.8 steals in 27.2 minutes per contest.

Duren signed a five-year, $200 million contract with the Pistons on Thursday after an offseason of negotiating. It's unclear exactly why the big man isn't at Saturday's practice, though he can be considered questionable for Detroit's preseason opener against the Suns on Monday.

Diawara missed the Knicks' final three Las Vegas Summer League games due to the finger injury, though he should be ready to go for Monday's preseason opener against the 76ers. The 21-year-old forward appeared in 69 regular-season games (seven starts) in his rookie season, averaging 3.6 points and 1.4 rebounds in 9.2 minutes per contest.

Payne worked out with the Kings in August, though that didn't lead to a contract ahead of the 2026-27 regular season. The veteran guard appeared in 22 regular-season games (one start) with the Sixers in 2025-26, averaging 7.4 points, 2.6 assists, 2.0 rebounds and 1.1 steals in 17.0 minutes per game.

Vassell scored a career-high 53.4 percent of his points from beyond the arc in 2025-26, averaging 13.9 points, 4.0 rebounds, 2.5 assists and 0.9 steals across 30.5 minutes per game in 67 regular-season appearances (65 starts). Just 42.8 percent of his shot attempts came from two-point range, marking a career low after he finished above 50.2 percent in each of his previous five seasons. Vassell may look to increase his two-point volume while applying more pressure at the rim as he continues playing a sizable role for a San Antonio squad aiming to get back to the NBA Finals.

Bittle was spotted in a walking boot in early September and is still on the mend from a right foot injury. He can be considered highly questionable for Saturday's preseason opener against the Heat until the Raptors offer an update on his foot.

Gardner also said that he spent time in Miami recovering this offseason, and he appears to be at full strength ahead of Saturday's preseason opener against Toronto. The 25-year-old is set to compete for a spot in Miami's rotation this season.

Olynyk will head overseas after spending the past 13 years in the NBA. The big man produced multiple career lows with the Spurs in 2025-26, averaging 3.2 points, 1.9 rebounds and 1.2 assists while shooting 49.0 percent from the field in 8.8 minutes per contest.
