After going undrafted this summer and joining the Heat for Summer League play, Johnson is signing with Los Angeles. While the 23-year-old point guard could compete for a spot on the regular-season roster, the Lakers now own his G League rights, making it possible the team waives Johnson before camp begins.
Schakel presumably signed an Exhibit 10 contract with the Suns before being let go, so he's expected to join the club's G League affiliate, the Valley Suns. He most recently suited up for Niners Chemnitz in Germany and last played in the G League for the Maine Celtics during the 2024-25 campaign.
Ralph could join the Warriors for training camp, though it's possible Golden State will waive him before camp begins since the organization holds his G League rights. Over 33 games at the University of the Pacific in 2025-26, he averaged 16.7 points, 6.8 rebounds, 1.8 assists, 1.0 blocks and 0.9 steals across 34.6 minutes per contest.
The Pistons have locked up their defensive ace through the 2031-32 season, so while Jalen Duren's future in Detroit remains murky, Thompson is now locked in as a foundational piece alongside Cade Cunningham for years to come. Thompson has proven to be a solid playmaker and defender, but he still has room to grow offensively, and it remains to be seen if he can develop a reliable three-point stroke.
Bernard presumably signed an Exhibit 10 pact with Minnesota, and the organization owns his G League rights, so he's expected to report to the G League's Iowa Wolves. In 45 outings with Iowa last season, he averaged 22.1 points, 6.2 rebounds, 5.2 assists and 1.1 steals in 34.0 minutes per showing. He ended the 2025-26 campaign on the inactive list due to an undisclosed injury, and it's unclear if he's been cleared to play yet.
With this transaction, Stockton is expected to suit up for the Valley Suns for the 2026-27 season.
Watson signed an Exhibit 10 deal with the Lakers on Thursday before being waived the next day. He's now expected to report to the G League's South Bay Lakers. Over 50 appearances with South Bay last season, he averaged 11.0 points, 4.8 rebounds, 2.9 assists and 2.1 combined steals-plus-blocks in 27.2 minutes per contest.
This is standard procedure as the Hawks looked to secure his G League rights. Baker is expected to suit up for the College Park Skyhawks once again.
Moni presumably signed an Exhibit 10 deal with the Warriors, giving the organization his G League rights. Over 40 appearances with the G League's Santa Cruz Warriors in 2025-26, the 23-year-old big man averaged 9.2 points, 5.1 rebounds, 1.4 assists and 1.3 combined steals-plus-blocks in 23.5 minutes per tilt. He's now expected to rejoin Santa Cruz for the 2026-27 campaign.
Nunn could compete for a spot on the regular-season roster in training camp, though it's possible the club will waive him before camp begins, as the organization owns his G League rights. The 23-year-old was productive for San Antonio's G League affiliate, the Austin Spurs, in 2025-26, averaging 15.3 points, 3.3 rebounds, 2.2 assists and 1.2 steals while shooting 40.1 percent from deep in 28.2 minutes per game across 47 outings.
"Brunson is at about 80 to 85 percent after the wrist surgery that he had in July," Goodwill said. "He'll have no restrictions when training camp begins in a couple of weeks." Brunson had surgery back in early July following New York's championship run, but his status for Opening Night was never in any real doubt.
Larsson is coming off a solid 2025-26 campaign in which he averaged 11.4 points, 3.5 rebounds, 3.4 assists and 0.7 steals across 26.4 minutes per game in 70 regular-season appearances (54 starts). The 25-year-old swingman figures to continue seeing meaningful minutes and will likely compete for additional playing time with the likes of Klay Thompson, Tim Hardaway and Ryan Conwell (hip).
Whitmore, who is entering his fourth NBA season, holds career averages of 10.5 points and 3.3 rebounds across 119 games. He figures to spend a lot of team with Denver's G League affiliate, but the 2023 first-round pick does have the talent to break into the Nuggets' rotation if he finds his footing.
The writing was on the wall for this move a long time ago, as there was a lot of mutual interest to get this done quickly. George averaged 23.6 points, 6.1 assists, 3.7 rebounds and 1.1 steals in 33.1 minutes per contest during the 2025-26 regular season, and moving forward he'll get to play alongside No. 2 overall pick Darryn Peterson in a new-look backcourt.
