Reports: Trae Young, Wizards agree to 4-year deal

The sharp-shooting point guard returns to Washington on a 4-year deal after declining his player option for next season.

Trae Young played 5 games with Washington last season after being acquired in a mid-season trade.

Washington Wizards guard Trae Young reportedly has agreed to a four-year, $212 million deal to return to the team, according to ESPN’s Shams Charania and The Athletic’s Josh Robbins.

The four-time All-Star, who was traded to Washington in January, declined a player option for the 2026-27 season to become a free agent.

Young, the No. 5 pick in the 2018 NBA Draft, has career averages of 25.1 points and 9.8 assists after spending seven-plus seasons with the Atlanta Hawks.
