Though Miller only averaged 1.1 steals per game, he did that over the course of 18 seasons. He also played in over 1,300 games for the Pacers, making it easy to compile career stats.
2. Vern Fleming – 885 steals
On three occasions, Fleming averaged over 14 points and six assists per game while playing for the Pacers for over a decade. Like Miller, he averaged 1.1 steals per game in his time with Indiana.
3. Paul George – 740 steals
George made six All-NBA teams and four All-Defense teams. While his one season leading the NBA in steals per game came with the Oklahoma City Thunder, George averaged 1.7 steals per game across seven seasons with the Pacers to start his NBA career.
4. Jamaal Tinsley – 660 steals
When Tinsley was on the court, he tapped into his old Rucker Park streetball skills on occasion when playing defense. He averaged 1.7 steals per contest as a Pacer over the course of seven seasons.
5. Danny Granger – 545 steals
During a four-year peak as a player, Granger averaged 22.3 points per game, won Most Improved Player, and made his sole All-Star Game appearance. His steals production peaked at 1.5 per game in the 2009-10 season. He averaged 1.0 per game over parts of nine seasons in Indiana.
