The 32-year-old center confirmed the surgery with a post on Instagram captioned, “All went well. Grateful for all your thoughts and prayers.”
Rockets coach Ime Udoka said on Jan. 20 that Adams was diagnosed with a Grade 3 left ankle sprain and was out indefinitely, but is now finished for the season.
Houston is already without veteran guard Fred VanVleet after he tore his ACL before the season. The loss of Adams further hamstrings Houston as it will be without the big man, who is averaging 5.8 points, 8.6 rebounds and 1.5 assists while shooting 50.4% overall. He has appeared in 32 of the Rockets’ 48 games and is averaging 22.8 minutes per game.
Adams last played on Jan. 18 vs. New Orleans, finishing with five points and 10 rebounds in the 119-110 win.
