Nikola Jokic passes Wilt Chamberlain with 79th triple-double, now 6th all-time

Two-time Kia MVP claims center record from Wilt, now chasing LeBron James and the five players with more than 100 career triple-doubles.

The triple-double mark for big men now centers on Nikola Jokic.

The reigning, back-to-back KIA MVP posted 15 points, 13 rebounds and 14 assists in Thursday’s 122-110 win over the Thunder, elevating him into sole possession of 6th place on the all-time list – one ahead of Wilt Chamberlain.

After the game, Jokic said, “It’s nice to be compared with a guy who’s probably one of the best ever. It’s some kind of legacy that I leave behind.”

Now in his 8th season, Jokic is averaging 19.7 points, 10.4 rebounds and 6.3 assists while shooting 54.3% for his career. His assists are up to a career-best 9.1 average through the season’s opening eight games.
