The NBA tried a new All-Star format. And the public responded.
The 2026 NBA All-Star Game, featuring a USA vs. The World format for the first time, peaked at nearly 10 million viewers and averaged 8.8 million viewers on NBC, Peacock and Telemundo. That’s the largest NBA All-Star audience since 2011, according to preliminary Nielsen data and digital data from Adobe Analytics.
The early returns indicate that the 2026 All-Star game topped the 2025 edition (4.7 million voters) by 87 percent. Viewership peaked at 9.8 million voters from 7 to 7:15 PM ET, when the USA Stripes were closing out a 48-45 victory over the World team.
Breakout stars from the All-Star Game include Anthony Edwards — who was named MVP for the victorious Stars — and Victor Wembanyama, who scored 33 points and delivered eight rebounds and two blocked shots for the World team.
