The wait is almost over for the June 9 launch of “NBA The Run.” The 3v3, arcade-style video game draws inspiration from classic basketball games like “NBA Jam,” “NBA Street” and “NBA Playgrounds,” while introducing modern gameplay features.
Each run places you in a fast-paced, four-round knockout tournament on iconic streetball courts around the world. Every matchup is a win-or-go-home battle with randomized rules that add variety and urgency to each game. You can compete as one player on the 3-player squad or control the entire team as you advance through elimination brackets that emphasize skill, adaptability and team chemistry.
With 32 NBA stars available to play at launch, and more to be added before the 2026-27 season, NBA The Run creates a new question for basketball fans: who will you pick for your 3-player team?

In addition, five players will include rookie variants, who will have different skills than the current players: Stephen Curry (2009-10), Luka Dončić (2018-19), Kevin Durant (2007-08), Shai Gilgeous-Alexander (2018-19) and LeBron James (2003-04).
5 Streetball Legends
Five streetball legends will also be available for your team: Shen Tong, Spin Cycle, El Gigante, DJ and Bobbito (who also serves as the in-game emcee).

With your squad selected, where will you play? Here are the court options at launch: Toronto, Chicago, Philly, Philippines, Venice Beach, New York and Beijing (plus Tournament Finals variants for Philippines, Venice Beach, New York and Beijing).
