Larry Hughes (1979)

With a nickname like “Smooth,” it felt destined that Hughes would turn into a solid NBA hooper. This winger was the eighth overall pick in the 1998 NBA Draft and only spent two seasons with the Philadelphia 76ers. He really broke out when he joined the Golden State Warriors in 1999, averaging 22.7 points per game after that deadline deal.

Hughes played three years for the Warriors and suited up for the Washington Wizards, Cleveland Cavaliers, Chicago Bulls, New York Knicks, Charlotte Hornets and Orlando Magic after that. While he never played for any team for more than three seasons, Hughes still carved out a 13-year career. His best season was in 2004 with Washington, averaging 22 points, 6.3 rebounds, 4.7 assists and 2.9 steals while finishing sixth in Sixth Man of the Year voting. Those 2.9 steals led the league, and he also participated in the 2000 Slam Dunk Contest.
