The Golden State Warriors have won seven championships in their franchise history. They have seen some incredible scoring performances during their playoff runs. Let’s highlight their top five all-time leaders for most points scored in a playoff game.

1. Wilt Chamberlain, 56 Points (1962 Eastern Division Semifinals, Game 2)

When the franchise was known as the Philadelphia Warriors, they selected Chamberlain with the third pick in the 1959 Draft. He won the Rookie of the Year Award and was named MVP in his first season. Chamberlain would go on to become one of the best players in NBA history. His best playoff scoring performance came in Game 5 of a 1962 Eastern Division Semifinals series against the Syracuse Nationals. Chamberlain scored 56 points, shooting 22-for-48 from the field and 12-for-22 from the free-throw line. He also hauled in 35 rebounds. The Warriors won the game and the series but would eventually lose to the Celtics in the Eastern Division Finals.

2. Rick Barry, 55 Points (1967 NBA Finals, Game 3)

The San Francisco Warriors selected Barry with the fourth pick in the 1965 Draft. His most productive scoring performance in the playoffs came in Game 3 of the 1967 NBA Finals against the 76ers. He played 46 minutes and scored 55 points. He shot 22-for-48 from the field and 11-for-19 from the free-throw line in the game. The Warriors won, but eventually lost the series in six games. Barry averaged 26.9 points over 66 career playoff games with the Warriors and was a member of the 1974-75 team that won the NBA Championship. He was named the MVP of that series.

3. Wilt Chamberlain, 53 Points (1960 Eastern Division Semifinals, Game 3)

The Warriors made the playoffs during Chamberlain’s rookie season. In Game 3 of the 1960 Eastern Division Semifinals series against the Nationals, Chamberlain scored 53 points to help the Warriors advance. He shot 24-for-42 from the field, but just 5-for-16 from the free-throw line. The Warriors went on to lose to the Celtics in the Eastern Division Finals.

4. Sleepy Floyd, 51 Points (1987 Western Conference Semifinals, Game 4)

Floyd made one playoff run with the Warriors, which came during the 1986-87 season. His best scoring performance came in Game 4 of the 1987 Western Conference Semifinals against the Lakers. He finished with 51 points, shooting 18-for-26 from the field and 13-for-14 from the free-throw line. The Warriors won the game but would go on to lose the series in five games.

T-5. Wilt Chamberlain, 50 Points (2x)

Chamberlain actually had two 50-point performances in the playoffs. One came in Game 5 of the 1960 Eastern Division Finals against the Celtics. The other came in Game 5 of the 1964 Western Division Finals against the Hawks.

Curry provided his 50-point performance in Game 7 of a 2023 Western Conference first-round series against the Kings.

T-5. Kevin Durant – 50 Points (2019 playoffs first round, Game 6)

Kevin Durant scored 50 points in Game 6 of a Western Conference first-round series against the Clippers in 2019.
