The Milwaukee Bucks have had some dominant scorers wear their uniform. In particular, two of them dominate their franchise history in terms of scoring. Let’s highlight their top five all-time single-season points-per-game leaders.


1. Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, 1971-72, 34.8 points per game

The Bucks selected Abdul-Jabbar with the first pick in the 1969 Draft. He stepped right into a leading role, averaging 43 minutes over 82 games during his rookie campaign. His averages of 28.8 points, 14.5 rebounds and 4.1 assists helped him be named an All-Star, win the Rookie of the Year Award, and finish third in MVP voting. His best individual scoring season came in 1971-72 when he led the league by averaging 34.8 points. He attempted 24.9 shots per game that season and shot 57.4% from the field on his way to being named the league’s MVP.

2. Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, 1970-71, 31.7 points per game

The 1970-71 season was the first time in his career that Abdul-Jabbar led the league in scoring. In addition to his 31.7 points per game, he provided 16.0 rebounds and 3.3 assists. That helped him make another All-Star team and win his first MVP Award. He also played a lot again, averaging 40 minutes across 82 games.

3. Giannis Antetokounmpo, 2022-23, 31.1 points per game

The Bucks selected Antetokounmpo with the 15th pick in the 2013 Draft. He didn’t make his first All-Star team until the 2016-17 season. That season, he also won the Most Improved Player Award and finished seventh in MVP voting. He won his first MVP Award in 2018-19 and won it again the following season, along with the Defensive Player of the Year Award. His scoring average of 31.1 points per game during the 2022-23 season ranked fifth in the NBA. Joel Embiid led the league in scoring that season with 33.1 points per game.

4. Giannis Antetokounmpo, 2023-24, 30.4 points per game

The 2023-24 season was the most efficient campaign of Antetokounmpo’s career. He shot 61.1% from the field, with his previous career high being 57.8%. He wasn’t as efficient from the free-throw line, though, shooting 65.7% on those attempts. With his average of 10.7 free-throw attempts per game, Antetokounmpo led the league in that department for the second straight season. His average of 30.4 points per game ranked second in the NBA behind Luka Dončić (33.9).

5. Giannis Antetokounmpo, 2024-25, 30.4 points per game

The Greek Freak again climbed to the top of the scoring rankings in 2024-25, shooting 60.1% from the field as he led the Milwaukee offense. With former co-star Khris Middleton in Washington, Giannis played with Damian Lillard during the 2024-25 season, co-starring with the elite point guard to lead a reloading team.

Antetokounmpo again led the NBA in free throws attempted in 2024-25 with 10.6, outpacing second-place Shai Gilgeous-Alexander by more than one per game.
