Magic's Franz Wagner out with calf injury for Game 6 vs. Pistons

The Orlando forward injured his calf during Game 4 of the team's 1st-round series against Detroit.

Magic forward Franz Wagner will be sidelined for Game 6 against the Pistons.

Orlando Magic forward Franz Wagner has been ruled out for Game 6 against the Detroit Pistons on Friday (7 ET, Prime Video) due to a right calf strain, the team announced Thursday.

It will be the second straight game Wagner has missed due to the injury, which he suffered in the second half of Orlando’s Game 4 win.

He averaged nearly 17 points and 5.5 rebounds over the first four games of the series. The former Michigan star, who is from Germany, was limited to 34 games during the regular season due to injuries and averaged 20.6 points per game.

The No. 8 seed Magic need a win at home on Friday to advance and avoid a Game 7 showdown in Detroit on Sunday.
