Longest NBA win streaks since 2010

Let’s look at the longest winning streaks over the last 15 years, including OKC's 15-game run this season.

The Thunder have been on a roll to open 2025-26. Can anything slow them down?

The 2025-26 season is off and running, and the Oklahoma City Thunder are rolling.

OKC nabbed its 15th straight win on Sunday after a 131-101 win in Salt Lake City. That moved the Thunder to 23-1, making them the third team to start a season 23-1 or better, joining the 2015-16 Golden State Warriors (24-0) and the 1969-70 New York Knicks (23-1).

Their hot start comes a season after the Cleveland Cavaliers strung together two separate 15-game winning streaks, and the Thunder had a 15-game run themselves, too.

Fifteen games is remarkable, but there have been some even longer win streaks in the NBA history. Here’s a closer look at the longest NBA win streaks since 2010.

  • 2012-13: Heat’s 27-game win streak — The Heat’s “Big 3” were at the peak of their powers during this run as they were on the hunt for a repeat as champions. There was no slowing down on that run. Even when things looked like they were in doubt during this run, they weren’t.
  • 2015-16: Warriors’ 24-game win streak — The Warriors’ 24-game winning streak was part of what goes down as the greatest regular season of all time. They did not rest on their laurels after winning a title in 2014-15 as they started the season 24-0 (en route to a 73-9 finish) with an average margin of victory during that win streak of 17.7 points.
  • 2014-15: Hawks’ 19-game win streak — The Hawks’ 19-game streak helped propel them to the No.1 seed in the East and a franchise-best 60-22 record. They ended December with two wins, then went a perfect 17-0 in January.
  • 2013-14: Spurs’ 19-game win streak — The Spurs were hungry for a title in the 2014 season after narrowly falling to the Heat in the 2013 NBA Finals. They had shooters galore and a young Kawhi Leonard coming into his own as a premier player in the league.
  • 2019-20: Bucks’ 18-game win streak — The Bucks were coming off a 60-win season and hungry for more in the 2019-20 campaign. Though they fell short of the 60-win threshold, their 18-game win streak was remarkable.
  • 2021-22: Suns’ 18-game win streak — The Suns were determined to show that their NBA Finals appearance in 2020-21 was no fluke. They peeled off an 18-game win streak from Oct. 30 to Dec. 2. This streak showed some great moments, especially from Devin Booker, who averaged 28.9 points per game in that span and had three games of at least 40 points.
  • 2017-18: Rockets’ 17-game win streak — The Rockets embarked on the second-longest winning streak in franchise history in 2018 by reeling off 18 straight wins. This came at a time when the Warriors’ grip on the Western Conference looked impossible to break, but the Rockets managed to soar to the No. 1 seed, thanks to this win streak.
  • 2017-18: Sixers’ 16-game win streak — Philadelphia’s longest win streak since 2010 was memorable as “The Process” bore fruit. They went on an incredible tear to close out the regular season with 16 straight wins. Ben Simmons averaged just under a triple-double during this run on his way to winning Kia Rookie of the Year and vaulting the Sixers to the No. 3 seed.
  • 2022-23: Bucks’ 16-game win streak — Milwaukee’s 16-game win streak helped fuel their run to the top seed in the East and the best record in the NBA. The streak started Jan. 23 and continued until March 4. There were some unbelievable moments from Giannis Antetokounmpo, like his putback dunk over Paul George en route to dropping 54 points against the Clippers.
  • 2017-18 Celtics’ 16-game win streak: The Celtics are one of the most storied franchises in NBA history, and even with that high bar to clear, the team’s 16-game winning streak is one the best in Boston’s history. Jayson Tatum joined the team as a rookie and immediately got a taste of success as the Celtics started this run in just his third game.
  • 2025-26: Thunder’s 15-game win streak (Nov. 7 to present) — There has been no championship hangover for OKC this season. The Thunder rumbled out to an 8-0 start, lost a game by two points and then … kept right on trucking. They have amassed a 15-game win streak (tied for the longest win streak in franchise history), with only three of those games being wins by less than 10 points. OKC posted a +15 average point differential during last season’s 15-game win streak. This time around? It’s +18.9, with 12 double-digit wins.
  • 2024-25: Cavaliers’ 15-game win streak (Oct. 23 to Nov. 17) — The Cavaliers started 2024-25 with a bang, winning their first 15 games. They had a promising 2023-24 season and had some buzz coming into last season, but that win streak was a statement that the Cavaliers are for real. Donovan Mitchell was the catalyst with four 30-point games during this streak, including two against the Bulls in four days.
  • 2024-25: Thunder’s 15-game win streak — OKC’s 15-game win streak from Dec. 3 to Jan. 8 was the longest in franchise history and toppled the previous record that had stood for nearly 30 years. Shai Gilgeous-Alexander solidified himself as a Kia MVP candidate during this run, averaging 33.1 points per game and shooting 55.5% overall.
  • 2024-25: Cavaliers’ 16-game win streak (Feb. 5 to March 16) — The Cavaliers had not one but two winning streaks of at least 15 games, with the more recent one setting a franchise record at 16 straight wins. The Cavs went toe-to-toe with some of the league’s best during that stretch, with the most important win coming in Boston when they had to rally from a huge deficit.
