What We Know About Thursday’s Games

-The Pistons continue their dominance over the Knicks: Detroit has won all three matchups with New York this season and has now won six straight in this series. They outscored the Knicks in all four quarters tonight, with Cade Cunningham collecting 42 points, eight rebounds and 13 assists.

-Spurs snag a blowout win over the Suns: San Antonio extended their winning streak to seven games with a 121-94 win over Phoenix. They shot 52 percent from the field while holding the Suns to 37 percent shooting. Victor Wembanyama recorded a double-double while picking up five blocks.

-Clippers grab a nail-biter over Denver: There were nine ties and 13 lead changes in this 115-114 Clippers win, with Jamal Murray missing a game-tying free-throw with 0.9 seconds remaining. Bennedict Mathurin had his best game for his new team, leading LA with 38 points, five rebounds, four assists and three steals.

Top Performers of the Night

-Cade Cunningham collected 42 points, eight rebounds and 13 assists in a blowout win over the New York Knicks.

-Jalen Brunson finished with 33 points, six rebounds, eight assists and two steals in that loss.

-Bennedict Mathurin matched a career-high with 38 points, five rebounds, four assists and three steals in a victory over the Denver Nuggets.

-Nikola Jokić led Denver with 22 points, 17 rebounds and six assists in that defeat.

-Kevin Durant compiled 35 points, eight rebounds, four assists and three blocks in a win over the Charlotte Hornets.

-Jarace Walker had 19 points, 14 rebounds and seven assists in a loss to the Washington Wizards.

-Jalen Johnson generated 32 points, 10 rebounds, five assists and three steals in a victory against the Philadelphia 76ers.

-Brandon Ingram amassed 31 points, eight rebounds and six assists in a win over the Chicago Bulls.

-Paolo Banchero provided 30 points, five rebounds and six assists across three quarters in a blowout victory over the Sacramento Kings.

-Jaylen Brown totaled 23 points, 15 rebounds and 13 assists in a win over the Golden State Warriors.

Clippers Defeat Nuggets, 115-114

There were nine ties and 13 lead changes in this epic game, with neither team leading by more than 10 points.

It was a heartbreaking loss for Denver, with Jamal Murray missing a game-tying free-throw with 0.9 seconds remaining.

Bennedict Mathurin matched his career-high, providing 38 points, five rebounds, four assists and three steals off the Clippers bench.

Nikola Jokić led Denver with 22 points, 17 rebounds and six assists.

Clippers-Nuggets Closing the Night

Denver and LA have been battling all night, and they’ll close the night for us.

Celtics Defeat Warriors, 121-110

This game was not as close as it looked, with Boston carrying a 29-point lead into the fourth quarter.

The Celtics shot 52 percent from the field and 43 percent from 3-point range.

Payton Pritchard led the Celtics with 26 points, six rebounds and seven assists off the bench.

Jaylen Brown tallied 23 points, 15 rebounds and 13 assists.

Magic Defeat Kings, 131-94

After trailing 28-18 in the opening quarter, Orlando outscored Sacramento by 47 points over the final three frames.

The Magic shot 50 percent from the field and 53 percent from 3-point range.

They also hit a franchise record 27 3-pointers.

Paolo Banchero provided 30 points, five rebounds and six assists.

Anthony Black amassed 20 points, three rebounds and three assists.

Maxime Raynaud led the Kings with 17 points, 14 rebounds and four assists.

Celtics and Magic Dominating Through Three Quarters

Boston looks well on its way to a blowout win in Golden State, leading 102-73 after three quarters. 

They’re shooting 55 percent from the field while the Warriors are shooting just 39 percent.

Orlando also has a double-digit lead on the road, taking a 102-84 lead into the final frame against Sacramento. 

The Magic have shot 20-for-37 from 3-point range while the Kings are just 8-for-21.

Nuggets Lead Clippers at the Half, 52-45

The Nuggets shot 10-for-23 from 3-point range while the Clippers shot just 3-for-17.

Denver outscored LA in that second quarter, 28-20.

Bruce Brown had his best half of the season, collecting 17 points, four rebounds and three assists off the Nuggets bench.

The Clippers leading scorer also came off the bench, with Bennedict Mathurin providing 18 points and two rebounds.

West Coast Games at the Half

Boston is off to a hot start in Golden State, carrying a 74-51 lead into the half. 

The Celtics shot 56 percent from the field while holding the Warriors below 39 percent.

Payton Pritchard has 15 points off the bench to lead the way for the Celtics.

Orlando also had a road lead in Sacramento, leading the Kings, 64-55. 

The Magic shot 12-for-24 from 3-point range while the Kings were just 5-for-15.

Paolo Banchero leads the Magic with 18 points, two rebounds and four assists.

Clippers Lead Nuggets After Q1, 25-24

Los Angeles out-rebounded Denver in that opening frame, 14-8.

Bennedict Mathurin played just six minutes off the bench but led the way with 11 points.

Cameron Johnson leads Denver with seven points.

Spurs Defeat Suns, 121-94

The Spurs had a 12-point lead at the half and put the game away with a 37-22 third quarter.

Stephon Castle led them with 20 points, two rebounds, four assists and three steals.

Victor Wembanyama had 17 points, 11 rebounds, four assists and five blocks.

Jalen Green had one of his best games for the Suns, leading the team with 26 points, three rebounds, two assists and three steals.

Raptors Defeat Bulls, 110-101

Toronto recorded 14 steals in this game, winning the turnover battle, 20-14.

Brandon Ingram led the way with 31 points, eight rebounds, six assists and two steals.

All five Raptors starters reached double figures in scoring.

Anfernee Simons led Chicago with 20 points.

Pistons Defeat Knicks, 126-111

This is Detroit’s third win over New York this season and their sixth straight in this series.

The Pistons outscored the Knicks in all four quarters of this game.

Cade Cunningham collected 42 points, eight rebounds and 13 assists.

Tobias Harris tallied 11 points, 10 rebounds and five assists.

Jalen Brunson led the Knicks with 33 points, six rebounds and seven assists.

Spurs Lead Suns at the Half, 61-49

San Antonio shot 48 percent from the field while holding Phoenix to 40 percent.

They also connected on 11-for-13 from the free-throw line while the Suns were just 1-for-2.

Jalen Green leads the Suns with 14 points, three rebounds, two assists and two steals.

Victor Wembanyama had 10 points, five rebounds and three blocks.

Hawks Defeat Sixers, 117-107

The Hawks out-assisted the Sixers, 24-17, while committing two fewer turnovers.

Jalen Johnson led ATL with 32 points, 10 rebounds, five assists and three steals.

Tyrese Maxey led Philly with 27 points, three rebounds and three assists.

Rockets Defeat Hornets, 105-101

Houston outscored Charlotte in each of the final three quarters to pull out this narrow road win.

The Hornets won 10 of 11 coming into this matchup, while the Rockets have now won 11 of their last 16 outings.

Houston shot 49 percent while holding Charlotte below 43 percent.

Kevin Durant collected 35 points, eight rebounds, four assists and three blocks on 14-for-20 from the field.

Cavaliers Defeat Nets, 112-84

Cleveland got out to a 34-16 lead after the first quarter and carried a 35-point lead into the final frame.

The Cavaliers shot 51 percent from the field while holding the Nets below 35 percent.

Donovan Mitchell had 17 points, three rebounds and five assists.

James Harden collected 16 points, five rebounds, nine assists and three steals.

Kristaps Porziņģis Makes Warriors Debut Tonight

The Latvian is expected to make his debut for the Warriors tonight.

He’s been in and out of the lineup with leg issues, playing his first game since January 7.

The big man is a perfect fit with Golden State, and it’ll be fascinating to see how he looks.

Wizards Lead Pacers at the Half, 59-47

Washington shot 45 percent from the field while holding Indiana to 36 percent shooting.

They also doubled up the Pacers in assists, 16-8.

Tristan Vukčević got the start for Alex Sarr and leads the way with 12 points, three rebounds, three steals and two blocks.

Jay Huff leads Indiana with 11 points and four rebounds.

Hornets Lead Rockets After Q1, 33-24

In one of the highlight games of the night, Charlotte shot 54 percent from the field to grab a 33-24 lead after the opening frame.

The Hornets have been one of the hottest teams in the NBA, entering this matchup winning 10 of their last 11 outings.

The Rockets have also won 10 of their last 15 outings.

Kevin Durant leads all scorers with 10 points on 5-for-6 shooting.

The Cavaliers made the biggest splash at the trade deadline when they acquired James Harden, and he showed why he’s so valuable here.
