The field is set

Miami (OH)’s victory over SMU wrapped up the First Four and set the stage for the tournament field. The RedHawks earned the No. 11 seed in the Midwest bracket and will take on No. 6 Tennessee in the first round.

11:29 PM / MARCH 18

RedHawk Redemption

Miami (OH) bounced right back from its first loss of the season and defeated SMU 89-79 in the First Four to clinch a spot against No. 6 seed Tennessee in the Midwest region. Eian Elmer scored 23 points, and Miami (OH) hit 16 3-pointers in the win.

10:00 PM / MARCH 18

Starting a new streak?

Miami (OH) went 31-0 before losing to UMass in the MAC tournament, and the RedHawks have a comfortable lead at halftime in the First Four. Miami (OH) leads SMU 43-34, and a berth against No. 6 seed Tennessee is on the line.

9:30 PM / MARCH 18

Third time’s the charm

Prairie View A&M had qualified for the tourney twice before, but it earned its first tournament win by beating Lehigh in the First Four Wednesday night. Dontae Horn led the way with 25 points, and the Panthers locked up Lehigh’s leading scorer Nasir Whitlock and held him to five points. No. 1 Florida awaits Prairie View A&M.

Prairie View A&M reaches mountaintop

The Panthers ran away from Lehigh in the second half of their First Four matchup and earned a 67-55 win. Dontae Horn scored a game-high 25 points for Prairie View A&M, and the Panthers will move on to face No. 1 seed Florida in the South region.

Lehigh holds narrow lead at half

The Lehigh Mountain Hawks and Prairie View A&M Panthers are playing a tight, defensive thriller in their First Four matchup. Lehigh leads 29-27 at the half; the winner nets a date with No. 1 seed Florida in the NCAA tourney’s South region.

The winner of the Prairie View A&M and Lehigh game will go on to face Florida, the No. 1 seed in the South region. The winner of Miami (OH) and SMU will play Tennessee, the No. 6 seed in the Midwest.
