Timberwolves extend series with game 4 victory ๐Ÿ‘

Anthony Edwards did not appear to be 100%, but you couldn’t tell based off his performance down the stretch. He led Minnesota in scoring and took over in the fourth quarter to prevent a second consecutive home-loss. San Antonio remained dangerous, playing without Victor Wembanyama from the second quarter on, but faded on both ends in the closing minutes.

The Timberwolves scored at the rim, from long range, and on second-chance opportunities late while also getting stops to hold off Stephon Castle, Devin Vassell and company from successfully coming back.

Spurs take the lead

Dylan Harper and Stephon Castle have really stepped up the penetration on offense, and are leading a third-quarter surge for the Spurs. De’Aaron Fox appeared to hurt his ankle in a loose-ball collision, but has re-entered the game.

Devin Vassell added some flair on this trip to the basket.

Late SA challenge successful โœ…

The Spurs closed the second half strong after withstanding a Timberwolves blitz. Julian Champagnie’s corner three went behind the backboard, which would have resulted in Minnesota having a chance to extend its six-point lead. Coach Mitch Johnson challenged, however, and officials awarded the Spurs free throws for contact Reid made on Champagnie prior to the shot.

That sequence kept the Spurs within four at the break. Stephon Casle, De’Aaron Fox, and Dylan Harper are each in double figures scoring while Anthony Edwards has a game-high 18.

Minnesota gaining momentum ๐Ÿ“ถ

Since Wemby’s departure, the Timberwolves have played more uptempo and is finding a rhythm on offense. Luke Kornet will have to fill the void for San Antonio against Minnesota’s frontcourt tandem of Rudy Gobert and Julius Randle.

Flagrant 2 on Wembanyama

Victor Wembanyama was ejected from game four after review of an elbow to the neck of Naz Reid following an offensive rebound. He exits with just four points and four rebounds, as San Antonio trails 38-34 with 8:36 remaining in the second quarter.

What’s next for Philadelphia?

The 76ers will go back to the drawing board this offseason. On the bright side, VJ Edgecombe proved to be a core backcourt piece beside Tyrese Maxey, who was an All-Star starter for the first time this season. Paul George showed encouraging signs late in the season, but just turned 36 this month and is owed $54 million next year.

Joel Embiid, meanwhile is due more than $57 million next season. After playing 38 regular season games this year, his durability remains a concern going forward. It’s unclear what moves will be made over the next several months, but the 76ers will likely re-tool the roster heading into 2026-27.

Knicks advance to ECF in dominant fashion ๐Ÿ˜ค

New York will make back-to-back trips to the Eastern Conference Finals for the first time since 1999-2000. It was a wire-to-wire victory to complete the sweep of Philadelphia, as the Knicks tied the NBA playoff record for made threes as a team (25).

No Knick starters played in the final quarter with the game out of reach. Next up for New York will be either the Cleveland Cavaliers or top-seeded Detroit Pistons.

122 points in 3 quarters

The Knicks are on the verge of breaking another postseason record in today’s matchup, as the team leads by 39 going into the fourth quarter. The team has 23 made threes as Landry Shamet, Jalen Brunson, Deuce McBride and Josh Hart each have at least four triples.

Both teams are beginning the fourth with reserves, signaling that this series is all but over.

5:21 pm ET / May 10

Sixers down 30 in 3rd

It’s not much the Philadelphia offense can do to offset a 22-35 shooting performance from three-point land by New York. The 76ers are only 6-23 from deep for comparison. Jalen Brunson has 22 points, and could be on his way to a third 30-point performance in the series.

5:08 pm ET / May 10

Monstrous halves from NYK

This has becoming a special postseason run for the Knicks. After today, they’ve now posted the three of the best first-half scoring performances in franchise history.

4:42 pm ET / May 10

Historic shooting performance โœจ

Joel Embiid is attempting to lead his team out of a big hole, as he’s 6-6 from the field for 17 points so far. Tyrese Maxey is the only other Philadelphia player in double figures with 10, as the Knicks historic shooting performance has their team on the brink of elimination.

Clippers secure top-5 pick

One variable entering the draft lottery was whether or not the Indiana Pacers would hold onto their first round pick. It was traded to LA in the Ivica Zubac deal, with protections on picks 1-4, and 10-30. The Clippers will hold onto the pick after it came in at the 5th position.

The Clippers also received Isaiah Jackson, Bennedict Mathurin, a 2029 Indiana first-round pick and future second-rounder in exchange for Zubac.

4:10 pm ET / May 10

Knicks go 11-12 from three ๐ŸŽฏ

It only took one quarter for the Knicks to essentially match their playoff average for made threes per game. Jalen Brunson is up to 11 points, while Deuce McBride leads all scorers with 12. The 76ers trail 43-24 when play resumes.

Landry Shamet has a pair of threes off the New York bench.

4:00 pm ET / May 10

Make that nine three-pointers and counting in the first quarter for Mike Brown’s Knicks. The team has only missed one shot from beyond the arc, as they lead 35-18 over Philadelphia with 2:42 to play. The team averages 11.8 threes per game as a team this postseason.

3:53 pm ET / May 10

NYK barrage from deep ๐Ÿ˜ณ

The Knicks have come out firing from long range. Deuce McBride is 4-4 from three, while the team is 7-8 in the first six minutes alone. Philadelphia is down double-digits early, and needs to find some answers quickly to extend their season.

3:45 pm ET / May 10

Knicks without OG for Game 4

Deuce McBride is in the starting lineup tonight for New York as OG Anunoby misses a second consecutive game. The usual suspects fill out the rest of the Knicks first five.

With the season on the line, Joel Embiid is active for Philadelphia.
