What we know after Sunday’s games:

  • The Knicks’ defense was suffocating in their 114-89 win over San Antonio to snap their 11-game win streak. The Spurs were averaging 124.8 points per game on 50% shooting overall during the streak, but New York held them to 42% from the field and 26% from 3-point territory.
  • Josh Giddey (20 pts, 14 reb, 10 ast) tied Scottie Pippen for the second-most triple-doubles (15) in Bulls’ franchise history in a 120-97 win over Milwaukee. The win snapped Chicago’s 11-game losing streak after going winless in the month of February.
  • Anthony Edwards (21 pts) and Jaden McDaniels (20 pts) combined for 41 points to lead the Timberwolves to their third consecutive victory in a 117-108 win over Nikola Jokić (35 pts, 13 reb, 9 ast, 1 stl, 2 blk) and the Nuggets.
  • James Harden (thumb) returned from a two-game absence to snap Cleveland’s two-game losing skid. The Beard finished just short of a triple-double with 22 points, 9 boards and 8 dimes.
  • Walter Clayton, Jr. tied a Grizzlies’ rookie single-game record with 14 assists in a 125-106 win over Indiana. The 14 dimes are the most by a rookie in the NBA this season.
  • Jonathan Kuminga (20 pts) and Onyeka Okongwu (25 pts) shined in Atlanta’s 135-101 win over Portland. That’s four straight wins for the Hawks, who reached .500 (31-31) for the first time since Dec. 23.
  • Detroit won their third straight game as Cade Cunningham tied Isiah Thomas’ single-season franchise record with his 9th game with 20+ points and 10+ assists.

After leading by 7 at the break, Orlando couldn’t find their rhythm in the second half, scoring just 35 combined points over the final 24 minutes of play.

A thrilling ABC doubleheader highlights a jam-packed Sunday across the NBA. First, the San Antonio Spurs will try to extend their winning streak to 12 games when they visit the New York Knicks (1 ET), followed by a Western Conference clash between the Minnesota Timberwolves and Denver Nuggets (3:30 ET).

Later, East contenders collide on Sunday Night Basketball on NBC/Peacock when the Philadelphia 76ers visit the Boston Celtics (8 ET).
