The Chicago Bulls take on the Brooklyn Nets in the League Pass Game of the Day.
The Brooklyn Nets (22-43) pay a visit to the Chicago Bulls (27-38) as both teams fight for positioning in the Eastern Conference playoff picture (8 ET, League Pass). The Bulls have won three in a row to bring them just 2.5 games back from the Miami Heat for the No. 9 seed, while the Nets are five games behind Chicago for the final spot in the SoFi Play-In Tournament.
Here are five things to know before tip-off:
- Cam Thomas is a bucket: Thomas has only played in 24 games this season for Brooklyn, but when he’s on the court, the fourth-year guard can score in bunches. He’s averaging career-highs in points (24.0), field-goal percentage (44.3), free-throw percentage (88.3) and assists (3.5). In one meeting against the Bulls back on Nov. 1, Thomas put up 32 points in 32 minutes.
- Cameron Johnson dialed in: Johnson has been a consistent force for the Nets in 2024-25, scoring 13 or more points in 19 consecutive contests since the beginning of January. Over his last four outings, he’s averaging 19.5 points, 5.3 rebounds, 4.5 assists and 1.8 steals in 31.7 minutes while shooting 54.0% from the field and 47.8% from three on almost six attempts a night.
- Coby White on a mission: White has been on a tear recently, highlighted by his career-best 44 points in 37 minutes on Mar. 6 in a 125-123 win over the Magic in Orlando. The sixth-year combo guard is averaging 29.0 points, 5.2 rebounds, 3.2 assists and 1.0 steals in his last five games.
- The Josh Giddey void: Giddey has enjoyed perhaps the best season of his four-year career in his first campaign in Chicago. In less than 30 minutes a night, the Australian has put up 13.8 points and 7.7 rebounds while notching career highs in assists (6.7), steals (1.1) and three-point percentage (37.6 on 4.0 attempts). In 15 games since the start of February, Giddey averaged 20.7 points, 8.7 rebounds, 6.8 assists, 1.1 steals and 0.9 blocks with shooting splits of 50.0% FG/48.6% 3PT/83.3% FT. However, the Bulls are likely to be without their starting point guard after he left their previous win early with an ankle injury.
- Kevin Huerter finding his rhythm: Huerter struggled in his first handful of games for the Bulls after being acquired from Sacramento at the deadline, but he’s turned it around recently while getting acclimated with his new squad. Over his last seven outings, he’s popped for 14.6 points, 2.4 rebounds and 1.7 steals in 30.0 minutes, posting a plus-13.6 plus-minus rating during that stretch. Chicago will rely more on Huerter, White and Nikola Vučević if Giddey is unable to play.
