Hawks trade Vít Krejčí to Trail Blazers

Hawks receive Duop Reath and two future second-round picks in return for Krejčí.

Vít Krejčí is averaging a career-high 9.0 points through 46 games this season.

PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) – The Portland Trail Blazers acquired forward Vit Krejčí from the Atlanta Hawks on Sunday in exchange for injured center Duop Reath and a pair of draft picks.

Hawks get:

  • Duop Reath
  • 2027 second-round pick (via Hawks)
  • 2030 second-round pick (via Knicks)

Blazers get:

  • Vit Krejčí

The 37th overall pick in the 2020 NBA Draft, Krejčí is averaging a career-high 9.0 points per game while shooting 42.3% from 3-point range in 46 games this season. The 25-year-old’s outside shooting fills an immediate need for the Trail Blazers, who currently rank last in the league in 3-point percentage (33.6%) and sit in ninth place in the Western Conference.

Krejčí has made 42.3% of his 3-pointers this season, averaging 2.2 per game.

The 29-year-old Reath was averaging 2.9 points and 1.2 rebounds across 7.9 minutes per game for the Trail Blazers, but just recently was ruled out for the remainder of the season after undergoing surgery for a stress fracture in his right foot.

Portland also sent the Hawks a second-round pick (via Atlanta) in 2027, and a second-round pick (via New York) in 2030, as part of the trade.

The NBA trade deadline is Thursday.
