Fantasy Basketball Waiver Wire Pickups: Week 22

FantasyPros highlights some players who may be available on your waiver wires.

Michael Waterloo, FantasyPros

March 24, 2023 3:33 PM

Dunn has continued to keep the pace, posting 33 points in his last two games.

It’s time for another look at the waiver wire to find players that you can add for short- and long-term success. For the last time this season, we’ll look at players that you should consider picking up who are rostered in four different tiers:

  • 50-60%
  • 30-49%
  • 15-29%
  • 0-14%

What’s more, we’ll give you a breakdown of how many games each team has for the upcoming week so that you can maximize the minutes of your streamers.

Without further delay, let’s get to it, starting with the schedule of games being played for next week.

Four games:

CHI, DAL, DEN, DET, HOU, IND, LAC, MEM, MIL, MIN, NOP, NYK, OKC, PHI, PHX, POR, SAC, UTA

Three games:

ATL, BOS, BKN, CHA, CLE, GSW, LAL, MIA, ORL, SAS, TOR, WAS

Rostered in 50-60% of leagues:

Austin Reaves (SG/SF – LAL)

Yeah, this wasn’t on my 2023 bingo card, but here we are. He’s been putting up top-70 numbers over the last month, and he doesn’t appear to be cooling down at all. He’s offered high-level scoring, while not killing your field-goal percentage. Even with three games next week, I’m grabbing him and using him while he’s on this hot streak.

Bennedict Mathurin (SG/SF – IND)

He’s back from an ankle injury, and with the Pacers not only having four games on the schedule but also without Tyrese Haliburton, Mathurin is worth picking up and using in the final week as the Pacers will want to get their young star as much run as possible before the end of the season.

Rostered in 30-49% of leagues:

Nick Richards (C – CHA)

Fresh off a contract extension, Richards posted a 14-point, 17-rebound double-double – the rebounds being the most of his career. Richards has blossomed after the trade deadline freed up minutes for him, and with Mark Williams injured, he should play a big role in the final week even if the Hornets only have three games.

Kris Dunn (PG/SG – UTA)

Dunn has continued to keep the pace, posting 33 points in his last two games. Dunn has posted top-85 numbers over the last month and has been one of the bigger silly-season winners this year. The Jazz have four games on the schedule next week, allowing another week’s worth of opportunity for Dunn.

Rostered in 15-29% of leagues:

Devonte’ Graham (PG/SG – SAS)

This is all about health with Graham, who missed Wednesday’s game with a quad injury. If he’s good to go, he’s worth starting if you need 3-point and scoring help. Graham has averaged 15.5 points over the last month.

Deni Avdija (SF/PF – WAS)

It hasn’t been pretty, but the Wizards seem like they are just going to play out the season as they prepare to go nowhere again in 2023-2024. Avdija has played 66 minutes over the last two games, scoring 31 points and pulling in 18 boards with nine assists.

Rostered in 0-14% of leagues:

Malaki Branham (SG/SF – SAS)

It’s been quiet for Branham of late, scoring a combined 16 points in his last three games. But he’s still playing a decent amount, and if the injury to Graham is serious, expect Branham to continue to see big minutes to finish the season as the Spurs complete their “Brick for Vic” campaign.

Sandro Mamukelashvili (PF/C – SAS)

Mamu will continue backing up Zach Collins, but I wouldn’t at all be surprised if Collins were shut down for the final week of the season. If that happens and you’re playing into the final week, Mamu could be a huge league-winner for you. He’s shown that he can score with ease, and the boards, STOCKs and even the occasional 3 are just bonus points.
