Denver Nuggets all-time playoff game appearances

Who saw the postseason most often for the Nuggets?

Nikola Jokić and Michael Porter Jr. are among the top 3 franchise leaders for playoff appearances in Denver Nuggets history.

The Denver Nuggets made the NBA Finals for the first time in 2023. This is undoubtedly the most successful era in the franchise’s history. As a result, you’ll likely recognize several names on this list of all-time playoff game appearances in Nuggets history:

1. Nikola Jokić – 80 games

Jokić is one of the best players in Nuggets history and possibly the best player of his era. He’s won three Kia NBA MVPs (and is gunning for a fourth) and was named Finals MVP when the Nuggets won the championship in 2023. The Joker’s presence on the Nuggets is the biggest reason why the team has played in so many postseason games recently. It’s fitting he tops this list.

2. Jamal Murray – 65 games

The Nuggets drafted Murray in part to build out their roster around Jokić. Additionally, the Canadian guard missed the entire 2021-22 season with an injury. He’s appeared in four postseasons to date, all with Denver. Given that Murray (27) and both Jokic (29) have contracts extending at least through 2027, it’s safe to assume they will continue to add to their playoff game totals in the coming years.

3. Michael Porter Jr. – 61 games

Like Murray, Porter Jr. has appeared in four postseasons for the Nuggets. He’s proven to be a capable third scorer for the Nuggets. Unsurprisingly, every member of this top three is a current Denver player who was part of the 2023 title team.

4. Alex English – 59 games

Before Jokić, English was the popular pick for best player in Nuggets history. Playing for the team throughout the 1980s, English made eight All-Star Games and won a scoring title. The Hall of Fame forward played in nine postseasons for Denver, more than anybody else to date, but never made it to the NBA Finals.

5. T.R. Dunn – 58 games

Dunn spent most of the 1980s with the Nuggets alongside English, establishing himself as a defensive standout. A wing player, Dunn finished in the top eight for Defensive Player of the Year three times. He was also known for his durability, playing in at least 80 games for 10 consecutive seasons. Dunn trails English by just one playoff game.
