SAN FRANCISCO – The Los Angeles Lakers defeated the San Antonio Spurs, 88-84, in the 2026 California Classic Summer League game at Chase Center on Monday.
The Lakers (2-1) were led by Chris Mañon, who collected 24 points, eight rebounds, two assists, two steals and three blocks. Arthur Kaluma led the bench with 16 points, two rebounds and two assists.
San Antonio held the lead for the opening 25 minutes of this game, but Los Angeles took control with a 27-16 third quarter and never relinquished the lead again.
Los Angeles shot 44.3% from the field and 84.2% on foul shots, while the Spurs shot 40.5% from the field and 63.6% from the free-throw line.
Los Angeles also outscored San Antonio in points off turnovers, 25-12.
The Spurs (0-3) were paced by Ja’Kobi Gillespie, who generated 19 points, six assists and two steals. R.J. Davis had 18 points and three rebounds. Emanuel Miller amassed 14 points, seven rebounds and two steals, while Tarris Reed Jr. had 12 points and 12 boards.
Both teams are off until the Las Vegas Summer League. The Lakers will face the Oklahoma City Thunder on Friday (10 ET, Prime Video), while San Antonio plays the Atlanta Hawks on Thursday (4:30 ET, ESPN2).
