SALT LAKE CITY – The Oklahoma City Thunder defeated the Philadelphia 76ers, 89-78, at Jon M. Huntsman Center in the 2025 Salt Lake City Summer League.
The Thunder are giving numerous young players the opportunity to prove themselves in the Summer League. They shook off a slow start to secure a relatively comfortable victory over the 76ers. The Thunder began to create some separation in the second quarter, outscoring Philadelphia 22-17 as the Sixers went nearly five minutes without scoring. Even though the game was tight in the second half, the Thunder never lost their grip on the contest. An 18-14 score in the third quarter gave the Thunder a nine-point lead heading into the final quarter. Oklahoma City didn’t have problems closing things out with a 28-26 score in the final 10 minutes of action.
Five Thunder players scored in double-digits, with Ajay Mitchell leading the way with a 16-point output. Nikola Topić, who’s playing his first competitive minutes with the organization after missing the 2024-25 campaign due to a knee injury, filled the stat sheet with 11 points, three rebounds, five assists and three steals. However, he went 2-for-13 from the field and 0-for-6 from beyond the arc. Mady Sissoko notched 13 points and nine rebounds. Chris Youngblood made his presence felt off the bench with 15 points (4-7 3FG).
Judah Mintz scored a game-high 21 points for the 76ers. Mintz also added four rebounds and two assists. Jalen Hood-Schifino, one of the many players on this Sixers roster with NBA experience, had 17 points and three boards. Justin Edwards recorded 11 points, six rebounds and five assists.
The 76ers and Thunder each play again Tuesday, facing the Grizzlies and Jazz respectively.
