Pre-Draft Outlook
In VJ Edgecombe and Tyrese Maxey, the Sixers have two star guards who are 20 and 25 years old, respectively. They also have two former Kia MVP candidates who are on the other side of 30. Both have missed many games over the last two years and are owed more than $230 million over the next two years. The Sixers also need a new front office after firing team president Daryl Morey after being swept in the Eastern Conference semifinals.
The Way to Go
Joel Embiid and Paul George probably aren’t going anywhere, but the Sixers’ new front office should be all-in on the Maxey-and-Edgecombe timeline. There should be some complementary bigs and big wings to choose from with the 22nd pick. Chris Cenac Jr., Isaiah Evans, Allen Graves and Morez Johnson Jr. could be available.
