Overview
Rienk Mast joined Donar of the Dutch Basketball League at 16 years old, won a league championship and Dutch Cup in his first season, then earned DBL MVP Under 23 and Most Improved Player honors the next year. He captained the Dutch U18 national team to a FIBA Europe Division B gold medal in 2018 before heading stateside to Bradley, where he redshirted as a freshman and steadily climbed the Missouri Valley Conference ranks over three seasons. A transfer to Nebraska put him in the Big Ten, and after earning All-Big Ten Third Team honors as a senior in 2023-24, a knee injury requiring surgery wiped out his entire 2024-25 campaign. Mast returned for a final season and picked up right where he left off, averaging 13.3 points, 5.8 rebounds and 3.1 assists in 29.3 minutes per game on 44.2%/31.1%/82.3% shooting splits. He recorded the third triple-double in Nebraska program history, earned All-Big Ten Honorable Mention and helped the Cornhuskers reach the Sweet 16.

Analysis
Mast reads the floor out of the post, delivering passes that create open threes for teammates. He sets hard screens in pick-and-pop and handoff actions, then spaces to the perimeter with a soft shooting touch. Mast has great positioning on the glass and a strong lower body that anchors him in post battles. He has the size and frame to hold his ground defensively at the next level. Five years of college and professional experience, plus international play with the Dutch senior national team, have given him polish.

Projection
Mast’s combination of frontcourt passing, floor spacing and physical screening fits cleanly into any NBA offense built around five-out principles. He profiles as a high-IQ big who makes everyone around him better. NBA comparisons to Mast can be made to Kelly Olynyk and Nikola Vucevic.
