Overview
Narcisse Ngoy built his reputation the hard way, climbing through France’s pro pipeline from the youth ranks at Espoirs Roanne to professional minutes with Chorale Roanne Basket and Rouen Metropole Basket. He represented France on the junior national team along the way. Then came the breakout. Anchoring Poitiers Basket 86 in the LNB Pro B, Ngoy posted 10.7 points, 11.7 rebounds and 2.7 blocks in fewer than 25 minutes per game while shooting 70% from the field. He swept the division’s top honors, taking home Most Valuable Player, Defensive Player of the Year and Most Improved Player. The Atlanta Hawks selected him 57th overall in the 2026 draft and shipped his rights to the Los Angeles Clippers. Rather than jump straight to the league, Ngoy chose a rare path. He signed with Auburn for the 2026-27 season, where coach Steven Pearl praised his toughness and team-first mindset.

Analysis
Rim protection is Ngoy’s calling card. He owns a reported 7-foot-7 wingspan and a standing reach north of 9-foot-6 – length that lets him wall off the paint and erase shots without leaving his feet. At roughly 250-270 pounds, he absorbs contact, seals deep post position and bullies smaller bigs off their spots. He is a relentless finisher around the basket and converts his looks at a remarkably efficient clip, feasting on lobs, dump-offs and putbacks. For a man his size, he moves well, sliding into help and covering ground in a hurry. His offensive package is still growing, which means a player this productive has real upside once he adds counters and stretches his range.

Projection
Ngoy projects as a defensive anchor at the next level. His value starts on defense and flows from there, with lob finishing and screen-and-roll diving giving him an immediate offensive role that fits any team. The extra season at Auburn gives him a runway to sharpen his footwork, extend his shooting touch and prove himself against a higher level of competition before he turns pro. NBA comparisons to Ngoy have been made to players like DeSagana Diop, Bismack Biyombo and Mitchell Robinson.
