Overview
Out of Rayville, Louisiana, Kashie Natt built his game far from the spotlight before forcing his way onto NBA radars. After a freshman season at Southern Shreveport, he landed at LSU Alexandria, where he became one of the most decorated players in NAIA basketball. He earned NAIA First Team All-America honors twice and was named the 2025 NAIA National Player of the Year, averaging 19.9 points and 10.1 rebounds while leading the Generals to a 31-3 record and the National Championship Round of Eight. Then he tested himself at the Division I level. At Sam Houston State, Natt reinvented his role and posted 10.8 points, 8.2 rebounds, 2.4 assists and 2.0 steals in 26.4 minutes per game, shooting 43%/38.3%/78%. He started all 34 games, led the Bearkats with 69 steals, and anchored a defense that powered a 13-7 conference record and a second-place finish. For his efforts, he took home 2026 Conference USA Defensive Player of the Year, a spot on the All-Defensive Team, and third-team All-CUSA honors.
Analysis
Natt guards multiple positions, sliding his feet to stay in front of guards and using his frame to absorb contact from forwards. Natt generates steals at a rate that ranks among the most disruptive in college basketball, constantly jumping passing lanes. On the glass, he plays far bigger than his height due to a relentless motor. Offensively, he is at his best as a connector and play-finisher. Natt’s improving stroke from deep gives him room to grow into a floor spacer.
Projection
Natt projects as a defensive specialist and possession-winner. He is a connective guard who guards up, rebounds out of his area, and knocks down open threes within the flow of the offense. NBA comparisons to Natt have been made to players like Jordan Goodwin, Gary Payton II and Josh Hart.
