Overview
Josh Dix was a three-star recruit who committed to play in his home state of Iowa despite heavy recruiting interest. After a quiet freshman season, Dix made an impact as a sophomore, earning Honorable Mention All-Big Ten recognition in 2023-24 after averaging 8.9 points and shooting 42.1% from three. He took another step as a junior, averaging 14.4 points, 3.2 rebounds and 2.8 assists while shooting 50.7%  from the field, the highest mark of all Big Ten guards. He transferred to Creighton for his senior season and was placed on the Naismith Trophy watch list. He finished his senior year at Creighton, averaging 13.2 points, 3.7 rebounds and 2.3 assists while shooting 42% from three, earning a Big East Player of the Week honor.

Analysis
Dix’s NBA career arc will depend on whether he can become a credible defensive option, as he’ll have to prove himself on that side of the ball in the G League before getting a chance to showcase his offensive upside. With a similar build and collegiate playstyle to Austin Reaves and Ty Jerome, Dix has the ability to create easy buckets for himself and teammates on any possession. However, his most likely path to minutes at the next level is operating strictly as a three-point specialist.

Projection
With a similar build and collegiate playstyle to Austin Reaves and Ty Jerome, Dix has the ability to create easy buckets for himself and teammates on any possession. However, his most likely path to minutes at the next level is operating as an three-point marksman like Joe Harris or Max Strus.
