Overview
At 15 years old, Emanuel Sharp suited up for the Israeli Under-16 national team and averaged 25 points per game at the FIBA U16 European Championship. Born in Tel Aviv to former Israeli pro Derrick Sharp and Canadian college star Justine Ellison Sharp, Emanuel grew up around the game on two continents before settling in Spring Hill, Florida, where he starred at Bishop McLaughlin Catholic. Sharp committed to Houston and redshirted his first year before earning AAC All-Rookie honors as a redshirt freshman. He improved every season across four years in the same program, a rarity at the Power Five level. As a senior, Sharp averaged 15.5 points, 3.0 rebounds, 1.7 assists and 1.2 steals in 29.3 minutes per game on 41.3%/37.2%/89.1% shooting. He earned First-Team All-Big 12 and Big 12 All-Defensive Team recognition while helping Houston reach the 2025 NCAA Championship game, where the Cougars fell to Florida 65-63 at the buzzer.

Career Highlights

  • 2025-26 All-Big 12 First Team and All-Defensive Team selection as a senior.

  • In 2025, named Most Outstanding Player of the Big 12 Tournament and NCAA Midwest Regional as a junior.
  • Father, Derrick, starred with Maccabi Tel Aviv; Emanuel has represented Israel in FIBA U16 competition.

Analysis
Sharp fires from deep with a quick release. His off-ball movement commands constant defensive attention, and he punishes opposing teams with shots from the corners and the wings. His off-the-dribble creation has room to grow, but he finishes at the rim by using his strength and body control to absorb contact and play off two feet. The guard was efficient, and he seldom turned the ball over, protecting it while still making crisp reads as a passer. Sharp brings a thick, physical frame that he weaponizes on defense. He gets into ballhandlers, pushes through screens and competes every possession.

Projection
Sharp projects as a 3-and-D guard who spaces the floor, competes on the defensive end and makes winning plays within the flow of an offense. His shooting gravity and defensive physicality translate to the NBA. Comparisons to NBA players can be made to Kentavious Caldwell-Pope, Devin Vassell and Tim Hardaway Jr. Sharp can carve out rotation minutes early and has the IQ, toughness and work ethic to cement himself as a reliable contributor on a roster.
