Baba Miller 2026 Draft Media Availability
Baba Miller addresses the media after being selected No. 37 overall in the 2026 NBA Draft.
Overview
At 17 years old, Baba Miller made his EuroLeague debut for Real Madrid, capping a youth career that began at age 12. Born in Mallorca and developed in Madrid, he won the 2020-21 Euroleague Next Generation Tournament before averaging 11.3 points and 5.3 rebounds for Real Madrid’s B team in 2021-22. In 2022, he committed to Florida State over Gonzaga as one of the top international prospects in his class. His college path took him through three schools, from Florida State to Florida Atlantic to Cincinnati, and the Bearcats are where it clicked. As a senior, Miller put up 13.0 points, 10.3 rebounds, 3.7 assists and 1.2 blocks in 31.8 minutes per game, shooting 53%/19%/66%. He earned All-Big 12 Second Team honors, made the Big 12 All-Newcomer Team and landed on the NABC East District Second Team. He also helped Spain win the 2023 FIBA U-19 World Cup, starting in the final and chipping in 11 points and 5 rebounds.
Analysis
At nearly seven feet tall, Miller can run offense like a guard, pushing the ball in transition, operating as a short-roll hub and creating out of dribble handoffs. His assist rate at Cincinnati was impressive for a player his size. Defensively, he’s switchable onto the perimeter and reaches for weak-side blocks with his length. Miller finishes at a high clip around the rim and attacks the offensive glass. The jump shot has room to grow, and his frame has space to add functional strength. His bouncy vertical leap helps him on both sides of the ball.
Projection
Miller projects as a playmaking big who guards multiple positions. His combination of size, length and feel gives him a high floor as a rotation piece even before the jumper rounds into form. NBA comparisons can be made to young Serge Ibaka and Jared Vanderbilt, though Miller is a smoother athlete and better playmaker. If the perimeter shot catches up to the rest of his skill set, Miller has a real chance to grow into a starting frontcourt piece.
