Atlanta Hawks
Reports: VanVleet-to-Hawks in 3-team trade
The Atlanta Hawks have managed to loop the Portland Trail Blazers in on the sign-and-trade deal that will send Fred VanVleet to Georgia.
Per ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski, the Hawks and Toronto Raptors have outlined a sign-and-trade deal that will deliver VanVleet to Atlanta on a four-year, $117 million deal. The sign-and-trade deal will include Portland sending a protected future first-rounder to Brooklyn and re-routing Shabazz Napier and others to the Raptors.
Golden State is moving Shabazz Napier, Treveon Graham and cash onto Minnesota, league sources tell ESPN. Napier and Graham are part of the D'Angelo Russell sign-and-trade.

Report: Burks, Hawks reach deal
The Atlanta Hawks have added veteran guard Alec Burks to their roster as their offseason overhaul and depth-addition project takes shape.
Sarah K. Spencer of the Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports the Hawks and Burke have agreed on a three-year, $12 million deal that will bring the capable scorer to Atlanta. Last season, Burke averaged 15 ppg in 66 games with the Golden State Warriors and Philadelphia 76ers. He was dealt to Philadelphia at the trade deadline in 2020 and served as a reserve there, averaging 12.2 ppg in 20.2 minutes per game and hit a career-best 41.6% of his 3-pointers.
Atlanta has been one of the busiest teams in the offseason, adding Fred VanVleet in a sign-and-trade deal, bringing back former All-Star Paul Millsap and picking up versatile forwards Dario Saric and Wilson Chandler on low-cost deals, too.

Boston Celtics
Kanter says he will sign with Celtics
Taking a page of sorts from one of his former teammates, center Enes Kanter revealed where he will be playing next season.
Via a post on social media — which came shortly after Shams Charania of The Athletic broke the news — Kanter said he has agreed to a deal with the Celtics. Per Charania, Kanter will get a two-year, $10 million deal from Boston. The Celtics are reportedly losing their current center, Al Horford, to the Philadelphia 76ers after he reportedly agreed to a deal with them yesterday.
Much like Kevin Durant a day earlier, Kanter — who played with Durant on the Oklahoma City Thunder from 2014-16 — is headed to an Eastern Conference team. Kanter was key to the Portland Trail Blazers reaching the Western Conference finals as he became their starting center once Jusuf Nurkic was lost for the season.
He averaged 13.1 points, 8.6 rebounds and 1.4 steals during the season for Portland and 11.4 ppg, 9.7 rpg and 1.2 apg in the playoffs.

The Denver Nuggets have added another rangy, versatile and defensive-minded big man to their frontcourt. Per Mike Singer of the Denver Post and ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski, Bobby Portis has agreed to a 1-year, $10 million deal with the Nuggets. His move there gives Denver a sizeable frontline led by holdovers center Nikola Jokic, Michael Porter Jr. and Jerami Grant plus newcomers Portis, Jae Crowder and Tristan Thompson.
The Nuggets and Grant agreed to a deal in the early hours of free agency, while the addition of Crowder and Thompson — two of the bigger frontcourt targets this offseason — stunned many in NBA circles.

Oklahoma City Thunder
Report: Noel reconsidering commitment to Thunder
Nerlens Noel, drafted No. 6 by the Philadelphia 76ers as part of their vaunted “Process” in 2013, has been traded twice since. But he settled into a bench role with the Oklahoma City Thunder last season, playing a career-high 77 games while averaging 4.9 points and 1.2 blocks in 13.5 minutes.
ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski initially reported that Noel has agreed to return and help the Thunder attempt to advance beyond the first round in a wide-open Western Conference. Later, however, Wojnarowski reported that Noel has since asked Oklahoma City for time to reconsider that commitment, and that both sides are continuing discussions.
