LAS VEGAS — The Phoenix Suns defeated the Oklahoma City Thunder, 100-99, in the NBA 2K25 Summer League at Cox Pavilion on Wednesday.

While there were only five ties and six lead changes in this game, most of those happened in the closing minutes. Oklahoma City’s Keyontae Johnson hit what looked like the game-winning jumper with 2.1 seconds left but proceeded to foul a 3-point shooter on the next possession.

David Roddy took and made all three of those free throws with 0.3 left to grab Phoenix the win, capping off a 29-21 fourth quarter. The Suns dominated at the line, connecting on 80% of their free throws (20-for-25) while OKC shot just 50% (9-for-18). The Suns also won the turnover battle, 19-12, while out-blocking the Thunder, 7-1.

The Suns (1-2) were led by Roddy, finishing with 21 points, six rebounds and five assists. Daniel Buie III collected 16 points, two rebounds, three assists and three steals. Isaiah Wong led the bench with 18 points and two rebounds, while Michael Devoe had 16 points, four rebounds and two steals.

The Thunder (0-3) were led by Buddy Boheim, who tallied 20 points, six rebounds, four assists and two steals. Keyontae Johnson compiled 16 points, seven rebounds and four assists. Hunter Maldonado amassed 13 points, three rebounds, 10 assists and two steals, while Jaden Shackelford led the bench with 18 points, two rebounds and three assists.
